I believe its in the ear of the catcher and pitcher. I know UNC uses Roy Williams' voice. Depending on what the pitching coach calls, do both the catcher and pitcher hear Roy say something like "fastball high and inside" or "slider low and outside"? And I still see pitchers shaking off signals from the catcher. Is PitchCom off by that point and its back to old school communications between the catcher and pitcher, or is the pitching coach (with PitchCom) still involved?

I apologize in advance for my old man ignorance. And thanks for edumacating me.

I may be wrong on this, but I believe the Pitching coach makes the call from the dugout. Pitching coach, catcher, and pitcher all wear them (and hear) the call I believe.

Gaines calls the pitches. Catcher and pitcher can hear it. As can one infielder and one outfielder (I think. May just be one fielder). Paulsen said last week he has the watch so the runner can’t hear the pitch. Others have the little watch band looking thing that goes in the hat band

Forbes can hear it as well.

Pitcher can shake off the call.

It’s Roy’s voice. Pitch and Location.

(I’ll try to find it but ) Search our Forbes interviews from last season and Forbes tells us about it and how it came to be Roy. Talked to a few pitchers and players about it last year as well.
