I worked at NIU, I am completely aware of the conference, but it is still not the same as the power 5's. Yes, they get good athletes all the time but overall talent is just not the same.

Depth no. Elite level talents on the top end? Hard to argue with some of the guys that have come out of this league including two guys that are sure fire HOF

Cmon, you can't compare the talent level. Here is list of NFL draft picks by conference last year

SEC: 51

Big Ten: 47

Pac-12: 32

ACC: 26

Big 12: 26

The MAC had 6!

In addition, there were seven teams that had more draft picks than the entire MAC.
We are talking about two completely different groups.

Again READ what I wrote. I said elite top end talent not depth.

You're DPOY very likely this year is a MAC player
You're OPOY could also be a MAC player.

Of course the other conferences have a greater wealth of talent. However the MAC has been known for producing very good players obviously not at the levels of the other big boys and I never claimed that.

Are you suggesting that Fleck's record is the same as the three you mentioned?

I'm suggesting that if Illinois is EVER going to be serious about its football and basketball teams, they have to stop rolling the dice on up-and-comers.
