The average salary is highly skewed by the massive salaries at the top. The median salary is much lower. According to ESPN, 350 of 491 NBA players make less than the $12 million figure you mentioned. 217 players (44% of all players, sue me, half was a slight exaggeration) make less than $4 million per year. That includes names like Kevin Love, Dalton Knecht, Russell Westbrook, Dante Exum, and Nikola Jovic. Not current stars but these are guys getting solid minutes on playoff teams.

Jovic is making 51 million this year but otherwise, your point is valid. And he actually is part of the other side of your argument that he skews the average.

Kinda crazy that Westbrook is only making 3 mill & change right now.

Probably best for him. If he really wants to be a PG no real team is gonna pay him 4 million dollars to come in and ruin their offense because he can’t run a team. He’s a shooting guard thru and thru. You can not demand a position and get paid at the top of the market to do it if you aren’t that position. I’d have love to get him as a SG, but it sounds like he had a lot of demands. Probable chemistry issue.

What a guy like PJ is looking at is that in the NBA game it really is not a true floor general PG anymore. Rather he calls himself a PG or not I am sure he wants the offense to run through him. He is a gifted offensive player, and can go to a good team and make them a contender in the correct situation.

I agree, I really had hoped we went for him but we didn’t and I haven’t heard much news about other schools with him either.

I can see NC State and Will Wade trying to make a splash, but 3 million I say he will try to crawl back to Memphis. Obviously nobody has matched that offer. I wish there was a way to actually see these NIL offers, because some of these numbers are crazy.

If Wilkerson is worth 2.5 this guy is worth 4. The problem is there aren’t many contenders that have space for this guy now so he will need to go to a lower tier p5 school with money and space on their roster
