I'm looking ahead for my games I wanna go see...I think I've got my 1st 3 planned... need to find new places to go eat!!
Week 1 Chase vs Mnt Heritage
Week 2 Hendersonville vs West Henderson
Week 3 Shelby vs Crest
That's a good start, Restaurant suggestions??

I'll be alternating between Maiden and Bandys this year...Nephew is in his senior year so I wanna make more than a few games this time.

For Maiden:
Week 2 @ Watauga
Week 10 vs Lincolnton

For Bandys:
Week 5 @ West Lincoln
Week 7 VS Lincolnton
Bandys lost in OT to WL last year, got kinda beat up, then played at Lincolnton the next week in one of the most physical games I've ever seen. Bandys has something to prove this year. Those two games last year sat them down and they couldn't get back up.

I usually wait and see what the best games are. I definitely will watch a Maiden game or games in the regular season. Also catch a Maiden game in the playoffs.

I thought Chase and Mtn Heritage woulda been a good one last year. I think chase rolls like they probably would have last year.

Reds vs Alstons

Que : toss up (Alstons basically minces theirs unless you tell em other wise)
Slaw : Toss up both good red bbq slaw
Sauce : reds by a mile (way to much vinegar in alstons now days)
Hush puppies : Alstons reds are sandy now
Fries : neither are very good basic taters nothing special
Sweet tea : sugar coma from reds but Toss up both good

Id punch a puppy in the face for either right now

I just had BBQ sandwich from Gary’s BBQ in China Grove. Some good eating. Any place that has good BBQ, I’m all for it.

I’ll go to every Maiden game so that only leaves the week of 9/9 for me to visit another game. There’s some good ones around too.
It’s funny…a restaurant may be the determining factor on where I choose to go.

West Craven vs Havelock..sounds interesting….might check out that fried chicken that Otis was talking about.

One of my all time favorite games! It was a classic!

All of your 2Aers are spot on about the Shelby BBQ. But you are completely missing an experience to match all eating experiences. COTTON's.
It is a little cenderblock building that serves the best whole catfish anywhere in the world. Put on a little Texas Pete and salt and just plain enjoy.
Have not been there in 10 or 15 years (I live in 1A Capital Mt Airy) (I know I know Tarboro) so Cotton's may not be be there any longer but if so, the world just lost a great experience!

Read an article that they closed due to the 74 bypass…been there 30 years.

They’ve reopened in Lincolnton though. I’ve never ate there….but I’m gonna try it now.

Played golf with a Caldwell county buddy this past weekend. He said the food truck at “Liquid Roots” was money! …”Infusion Smokehouse” food truck. I might have to try that.
Grab an IPA and some BBQ chicken tacos…then head over to the Brushy Mtn ball field.…watch those Panthers roll in from the woods! Go! Hibriten!

I didn’t get to see Shelby last year….well yeah I did…on TV.

I do know the expectation is…they’ll be better than last year.
Hibriten was young.

For those who read this…my buddy is from South Caldwell…says they’re starting a rising freshman at QB….Luke Williams….he says watch out for this young ‘un….he is an absolute stud…oh lord!…another Spartan Mule!

Return a handful starters on both sides of ball. OL and secondary will probably be biggest question mark. Numbers will be an issue too not a ton of turnout. I wouldn't be shocked if Shelby thrashed us but it will show us where we stand.

Good backfield and LB corps depending on where coaches line up our best 4-5 players on both sides of the ball… Unfortunately record wise IMO might not show much improvement from last year, tough non-Conf schedule could lead us to sub-.500 record before heading into conference play where I would say Watauga is the favorite again this year
