Question...Can a team who incurs a bye situation in week one of the playoff . Play a scrimmage game against another school who didn't make the playoffs?.. Assuming both schools agreed of course...like a practice game...

Just to see some different looks, hit somebody else...keep things fresh, keep your edge against some quality players for a night...not beat up on sophos or freshman for a night... I don't know...just seems like that time off without a game would seem long for players and coaches...

Lol... just a thought... just asking if it's legal or does it violate any IHSA bylaws, etc....probably not realistic but you never know what goes through some coaches minds...

One week isn't a killer, 2 byes be a problem. Since ihsa is not sticking to all bylaws maybe they can assure a team potentially wont get 2 byes.

This is ridiculous. Like many I like playing around to see where my kids HS may play, so I look particularly at 6A. What I’m seeing is a very distinct possibility that Simeon will play Kenwood in the 8-9 game in the 1st round in the North 6A. So if the strike isn’t resolved for 1st round games, but in time for 2nd round games, will they have a coin flip or does the 1 just get the forfeit, a 2 week break, and a ticket to the quarters?

According to the IHSA statement regarding playoffs , it's a double forfeit

You can go to the IHSA - I’m sure if there is a rule they will change it for you. Their bylaws mean squat
