AgreedNo way Cherokee makes it over Andrews.
That would make the 1aa West VERY interesting. Mount Airy, Swain, Polk, Mitchell, East Surry, Avery (ish). Much better than last year...I will still be VERY suprised if Mitchell is small.

Wins !!! Don’t matter who just as long as you win. BUT they get exposed every year by a SMC teamI'm new at this playoff seeding I'm the father of a freshman so never paid attention to it just went to the games Polk played in for years with out ever worrying about why or how the seeding was done , know I'm trying to learn and one thing only don't understand is how Thomas Jefferson is a #1 seeding given the ridiculously easy schedule they play
It kinda does matter who you beat. Not so much when it comes to making the playoffs, but moreso when it comes to where you're seeded.Wins !!! Don’t matter who just as long as you win. BUT they get exposed every year by a SMC team![]()
I’m not saying your scared. There is a difference in being scared and wanting to face a team. Just because you aren’t scared doesn’t mean you want to play them. The only team that wants to play East Surry this year is Tarboro and maybe Holmes.I understand what you're saying about the cardinals , but don't think anyone here in the mountains are scared of them coming west we also know you have to beat everyone to get that championship
Thomas Jefferson gets a 1 seed every year bc they win their weak conference them or mountain island
Bear Grass get a #2 seed from a weak conference that includes a playoff team like Columbia..Thats wack!! Mean while a school like Southside who is a conference with Tarboro and Pamlico not even projected to make it. Also why so many byes???? I can understand the 1seed bye but the other three is crazy
Columbia currently is 0-4..Bear Grass is 2-5 and they play 0-4 Columbia two more times. With subdivisions it's not crazy. If they did away with byes in 1A and 4A we would go back to having half a bracket with sub 500 records and a ton of 1 and 2 win teams making the playoffs.

Btango, If you didn't make so much sense, I'd swear you were stupid. Really tho, give 1a their own day. A smaller venue. 1a schools are scattered pretty far apart, it hurts the athletic department of a 3-8 team when they have to travel 200 miles for a whipping. Yeah, the kids get to play 1 more game, and there's always the chance for an upset, hell Polk went to the 3rd round last year as a 3-8, but it makes more sense. I also like the idea of regional finals being played at a neutral sight. WCU, ECU, APP, ect would make for some fun games.1A/1AA needs to go to four rounds. 16 teams in each subclass. Only teams with a guaranteed slot are conference champions. After that go by the Max Preps rankings. Have their "own" Saturday championship day. All the focus on 1A that day! Let the schools have more say in the location and facility to use. Two games, one at 2pm and one at 6:30pm.
Play the other three classes the following week at two facilities. A fan could see five title games may be six depending on how they are scheduled.

I don’t think anyone has even suggested that they want East Surry to go east. Sbb simply stated that if Mitchell went 1AA, ES would push to the east. I think he’s right. Last year, ES was the second team west of the dividing line. Avery didn’t make the playoffs last year, but appear on track to make it this year. If Mitchell goes big, that’s one more 1AA team west of ES.I’m not saying your scared. There is a difference in being scared and wanting to face a team. Just because you aren’t scared doesn’t mean you want to play them. The only team that wants to play East Surry this year is Tarboro and maybe Holmes.
I agree there’s a lot of kids that play for TJ that I have known for many many years and have spent a lot of time with. Also I really like coach Cash he’s a great guy and coach. I always pull for TJ to do good but the biggest thing that gets me is the fact that we never actually know how good they truly are because they are not tested. But with that being said they are rolling for sureEasy now! TJCA has eyes on this board that may use aggressive tones if they read about you knocking their SOS. But if you ask them, everyone is "too afraid" to play them so they have to settle for the terrible teams who aren't afraid of playing them. Makes no sense, does it? Polk has no limitations on playing them yet they'll drive to Winston-Salem to play one of the worst programs in recent memory, excluding maybe Garinger, so they can get the win. I guarantee you that Coach Ollis isn't afraid to play anyone even on their worst year.
And for the "eyes" on here, let's get something straight. I pull for them. I want them to win. I have friends who send their children there and I want to see them succeed. It would tickle me to death to watch them win something. But as I told a particular coach who wanted to message me on Facebook about me blabbing on here, the non-conference homeschool games and three hour trips to play schools that haven't won 3 games in four years aren't doing the team any favors in the long run and it shows come 3rd round of the playoffs.
Take it as friendly criticism instead of personal jabs!
Only 1 of them should get into the playoffs since there are only 2 football schools in the conference. However I don't agree with them getting getting a bye. I think they should get seeded with the wild cards.
