1. Nothing has changed. Schools have been jockeying for wins for as long as I can remember.
2. The sport of football has ruined many good conferences over the years. Teams that could not compete on an annual basis have often looked for another avenue to have success on the field.
3. 6 classes were fantastic. So was $.42/gallon gas. That is history and will never return.
4. Football is unique in that you have to qualify for the post season.
5. 4-4 teams qualify and will probably play teams with multiple losses in a round one game.
6. Teams that don't qualify have the option to play a week 9 game against other non-qualifiers and possibly end the season with a win.
7. Some of the awful in-season travel in the district model would be eliminated.
Nobody gets hurt. (or am I missing something?)
