And Kestrel Heights is in the east. Was really hoping W-S Prep would be coming to Andrews instead of Cherokee. Hate to see conference rematches first round.
I think this is the 4th yr in a row we face Hayesville in the first round. Geez. At least we get to put Hayesville out. lol.
The other side of the 1A west is weak. Andrews Might come out of that side.

It's near Forest City, in Rutherford County. The school actually stands pretty much where the little mill village of Avondale used to be. That's where my Dad grew up.
Whitesville Looks like around 3 & 1/2 hour drive and 221 miles. About the same to Swain and all down hill close to the coast & warmer. Elevation 101 ft . Bryson city

Recon the murphy gang still thinks the 1A is the kiddy pool since they are for sure staying 1A
Once again the NCHSAA demonstrates that 1A is not a top priority to them. Whoever comes out of that bracket with Rosman, Murphy and Robbinsville will just have played another SMC tournament. My question is with Rosman and N. Stokes with the same record after N. Stokes dropped a lose why wouldn't they take overall records which N. Stokes being 6-5 and Rosman getting the higher seed? Priorities of the NCHSAA

I've been watching the projections the last 2 weeks, especially after the ADM came out. I have set back and laughed because everyone had Murphy in 1AA. Lol. Ole Gentry has some pull. Not being disrespectful to our in County team but I seen it coming. No way was Murphy going to move up. Let the real games begin
You only had to have one team with a lower ADM than Murphy to opt out and they would drop down as they were right on the line. I figured they would drop too because I knew someone would opt out. Someone chose to not drive 300 miles to get beat 60-0, so Murphy is 1A.
I know, I was just having some fun. Knew they were going to be close. Just trying to give another conspiracy theory !!
Probably Murphy's last year in 1a. Don't understand why it matters to so many. For SMC teams if you play Murphy it means a rematch and a huge gate. Personally I would have liked 1AA for competing against new teams. One postive is I haven't seen Bishop, that'll be new.
It doesn't matter, really, I knew the cutoff line is usually around 500 and once the numbers came out I knew they would be safe. You were either going to be the biggest 1A or smallest 1AA. Good luck to all the SMC teams
Mt. Airy close to 4 hours to Whiteville. I did radio for West Columbus in 09 we went to Mt. Airy. Took 4 hours then. Also u got a chance to beat Whiteville on their field. I saw them play SC last night,not impressive at all. Great places to eat here in Whiteville.
Slow down BK - have you forgotten the 1st playoff game two years ago when we played Hayesville and the refs. I believe the final count was 10 penalties to 0. It was so blatant, and if it hadn't knocked us out of the playoffs, it would have been downright comical. Sure hope we get a different group of officials this time around.
Whiteville losing to S.Columbus tells me that Whiteville is not a threat to challenge anyone in the west. The west is just stronger than the east this year.
We had to go there last year, if we make it only fair they return the favor
Fact of the day: The Gentry family is actually hosting a foreign exchange student this semester. So +1 to Murphy's population could have meant the whole kit n kaboodle. Sure seems to work against yous guys' annual conspiracy theories.

How is S. Robeson in the West? Looking at google maps it shows them to be south of Fayetteville. Just wondering where exactly the cut off line for East/West is ??

They changed the brackets and now they are final. James Kenan was moved to 3rd instead of East Carteret and rightfully so. They finished with same record but JK beat them head to head.
