My stance is the same, Bama had their shot at LSU and got beat, shouldn't have played in the NC game. But a few schools always get the benifite. If Washington had I wouldn't have been surprised Michigan getting in over PSU. But it wasn't just the conference championship, PSU beat tOSU head to head on the field, They weren't the best team that day

I don't like Mich, PSU or tOSU, but PSU has something on their resume the other 2 don't have, Conference champion, they also have a win head to head over tOSU. I think the Big10 was the best conference this year, it would be hard to argue them not getting 2 teams in. But to take one who didn't even play for the conference title makes their conference title seem unimportant.

Wasn't a viable alternative in 2011 (don't tell me OK State or I will laugh at you) so Bama vs. LSU was the only right matchup. Bama missed a ton of kicks in the LSU loss in the regular season....it was a fluky loss ala OSU to Penn State this year. Now by your logic OK State should have got in. I bet Les Miles wishes they did as LSU wins that game by 2-3 TDs and he is still HC at LSU with 2 natty titles!

We are just going to disagree, tOSU choked their way out of the playoffs last year, did the same this year and the selection committee gave them a mulligan. No one other than ESPN wanted to see a Bama/LSU rematch, well Bama fans did, and anyone other than Bama, wouldn't have gotten the chance. Maybe they were the 2 best teams, but Bama had their shot and lost, someone else should have gotten the opportunity, But ESPN gave them a mulligan.

Oklahoma State deserved that spot over Alabama. I've actually never been more disgusted with college football than I was when Alabama got that spot in the title game.

You're always such a homer. I've seen you make so many excuses for Bama, Auburn and what not when it comes to bowl games. You do this with no other conference.

That OK State team beat Stanford (11-1) in the Fiesta Bowl. They won their conference that year and with there only being two spots available (unlike four now), no way should Alabama have been given another shot at LSU. OK State and Stanford both had the same record as Bama and won their divisions and conferences. Bama did not.

I've read your post in this thread and am curious do you think pre conference games dont count? DO you think ole Miss was better than Alabama last year? Should Pitt get in before Clemson because they beat them? If everything else is equal then I agree use head to head matchup. Penn State won a tiebreaker with OSU. If UM beats Iowa the tiebreaker is for OSU. Fact is Penn St lost two games. committee is looking for the best teams using the whole season as a body of work. conferences only care about conference games. The B1G lobbied for conference champions only 4 years ago but the SEC and Mike Slive defeated it. You want to complain then contact the SEC.
