NU is now running a Princeton Offense, or so says a story from the AP:

The Wildcats have employed a Princeton-style offense with as many of four or five shooters on the floor at the same time. They lead the Big Ten in 3-pointers made, averaging 11.4 per game.

"It's going to be a very difficult cover for our group," Indiana coach Archie Miller said. "Something unique, you don't see it a lot. For us, our offense may be as important as our defense in this game."

Shhhh..... don't let Archie Miller know the scouting report someone handed to him is leftover from ten years ago.

Maybe the Goren boys finally convinced Collins to use Comedy as a consultant.

But this team rebounds, unlike the Carmody P.O. group.

How many offensive rebounds did either team have ? NU now has the potential to rebound on the defensive end and hopefully will continue to do so. BC never had the athleticism to effectively play man to man and had to employ an unusual zone "D" that compromised NU's ability to rebound. BC was an excellent tactical coach that did the best with the players he had. The responsibility for the lack of talent can be shared by BC and NU's indifference to the program. I am all for CC but he now has more talent than BC ever had and it is his job to use it effectively. The MSU game, with Nance in particular, showed the potential NU has. Effective PG play and NU using its uncommon height advantage on the defensive boards are the key to the season

Might be that NU has more talent currently has something to do about recruiting. Also I would imagine Collins is in Evanston when a recruit visits.

Good case to be made that BC was not as much a genius on X’s and O’s As he was very good at setting up a PO. No evidence the PO was a response to the talent on the roster rather than what he knew and had mastered.

I think I covered that in my post. BC may not have been a good recruiter but if you think he had the same support from NU that CC has had, there is no point debating the subject Keep bringing up the Kaminsky incident but no one knows why BC was unavailable- however everyone knows that the facilities were terrible, admissions offered him no breaks and JP was not a fan.

NU could not rebound on the defensive boards during BC's tenure and some criticize BC because NU did not rebound on the offensive boards. I am not sure how anyone could have expected better "O" rebounding when the players could not rebound defensively because of lack of physical abilities

Enough on BC, Let's hope CC can get NU to perform to its full potential

I have recognized quite a few PO sets throughout this early season. I figured that if I said anything, the response would be like it has been in this thread.

Nance is the perfect center for a PO. Princeton used the high post with a center that could pass but also could shoot from 15-20'. The PO also relied on outside shooting , so I guess there are some similarities, although the PO usually had more off ball movement.

Pete Carril's book "The Smart Take From The Strong" is a quick read

Sorry, but this ignorance cannot be let go without being addressed.

Surely, you must be joking. Carmody was given 13 years to mire us in mediocrity before he was finally canned. Not sure how much more support you can get.

Carmody himself spoke about how he disliked recruiting. He spoke about how rebounding was overrated. It wasn't just because a lack of physical abilities. He told his players that if they made shots, they wouldn't have to rebound on the offensive side of the glass. If his players lacked physical ability, that's also on him as a recruiter and as a developer of talent.
