I have seen and read from a couple Huskers writers that they would not be surprised to see POB transfer. This could all be rumor but word is he is not happy about them adding Lee and the possibility of having to wait 2 more years? Anyone else heard anything about this?

Have not heard this, but maybe he's seen the future with his own eyes and does like the view. I hope he toughs it out. If Lee were to start and get injured next year, we'd be in real trouble. If you're POB, you gotta allow yourself to develop in the system under some pretty good QB coaches, even if that means holding a clipboard for 2 more years.

Rumors and more rumors. Until I hear from him, it has no merit. People can and will saying anything on these message boards that get taken as truth. He is just a freshman, I would think perhaps a little time to see how things play out.

Someone with the initials POB ordered cable in the same city as the grave of Rumor Phoenix; with a major University located nearby.

He was fine with another schollie QB in his class (the kid that changed to Oregon) so it doesn't make sense he then has problems with a transfer QB with just two years of playing time left.

Only the fans believe that.

Kids want to play...I'm not sold on Lee anyways....everything about him says pedestrian QB.

It's an insult to POB if they are simply taking the lazy route and pulling the 'we are 5 weeks into the season, what story did we write about last year' approach.

I'll add this. Regardless of what he does, he in some ways really initiated the exposure for us in California again. I am really pulling for him.

POB, who knows. It's kind of funny, it wasn't that long ago that the discussion was about having too many QB's. Now we have two guys plus any new recruits for next year (not counting Darlington).

18 seniors + Derrion Grim, so 19 spots. Last I read (saw in HOL article), we're planning on taking 22 or 23. Either some are going, or someone can't count.

Has Vince Marrow been seen in Lincoln?

Lee has arguably the most talented arm we've ever had from a Husker QB, he's the real deal.

The problem here is that we always hear about the next great thing in Lincoln and it's usually someone who isn't on campus yet. Last season POB was going to be our savior this season and now we're talking about him transferring..

I'm resigned to the idea that every next-big-thing QB who enrolls at Nebraska will end up playing somewhere in North Carolina. It's what the Callahan/Bo years do to you.

I think the kid that changed to Oregon's name was Terry Wilson...and now Oregon is starting a freshman QB not named Terry Wilson....;)

Every single year there are transfers or medicals that free up scholarships that we don't see coming. The reason we're able to give schollies to walk ons is because they get freed up every year. We should over sign every year, it always works itself out.

POB came in with a bit too much of a chip on his shoulder. He thought it was going to be easy to come in and start. Reality hit him hard during the spring and he had a poor attitude which held him back a bit. Tanner Lee getting another year also contributed to that as well. However, since the season has started he has really turned it around and has been putting forth the effort. Hopefully that leads to him competing for the starting spot next year.

I hope so. POB hasn't been playing quarterback for a long time. He needs development. It always amazes me, how some kids inflate how good they are. Some really underestimate the next level up from even top competititors in talent-rich California. The hardest job in sports is being a high quality quarterback at a top five conference school or the NFL. Grind Pete grind. You have good teachers and mentors. The program will develop you well the next four or five years if your effort is top notch.

He was flipped to come in with three qb's and they had two HS AA's the previous year; he really fell for it - plus Frost left.

Whoa, whoa Metal Head! Let me try to speak your language: You see there can only be "One" (Metallica) starting QB. So the battle is like the "Holy Wars... the Punishment Due" (Megadeth), but POB is not being "Antisocial" (Anthrax) or crying to his "Mother" (Danzig). So "In the Meantime" (Helmet) "Look to Your Orb for the Warning" (Monster Magnet) before "The Mob Goes Wild" (Clutch) and if POB transfers we might need to find the "Beginners Guide to Suicide" (Orange Goblin).

Who's Pete?

I guess I'm not quite so surprised if POB had an inflated sense of abilities... everyone around him was hearing about how great he was, all the fans were already anointing him the starter over Tommy, he was being recognized for his talents as a top player... why wouldn't he have an inflated sense of his abilities?

I'm a bit surprised at this as well.

Sidenote: Did you see Washington scored 70 on Oregon yesterday? And Michigan put up 78 on Rutgers without allowing them to score!

Anyway, I think POB has a great opportunity here.. he's got some excellent coaches and at worst, would be #2 next year as a redshirt freshman.

His demeanor on the sidelines certainly doesn't look like a guy who is walking around upset either.

To me, this is all just rumor, so I too don't want to over react to this stuff.

A while back, I went through all of Riley's QB's at Oregon State, just to see when & how long each guy started, to see if there was a pattern. There wasn't. The only pattern I found was that it appeared that every QB redshirted.

Yes, transfers and medicals happen. My point. Who stays or who goes is strictly conjecture at this point. And POB's status falls in the conjecture category.

Oversigning in the B1G requires documentation and explanation. Could "because I wanted to" work as an explanation. I don't know.

From what I understand you just need your numbers right by the date freshmen report, not signing day. But I could be wrong.
