QBs from bad non-Power 5 teams having below average stats against poor competition often transfer to the nation's best power conference and become great.

I'm serious. It happens a lot.
Newbie posters (trolls) join message boards after losses all the time with little or no substance to a single post.

I'm ready for a QB competition. Been a long while.
ever since crouch ran to millard north, they seem to frown on qb competition.
which doesn't makes sense because the running backs seem to work well doing it.
and I never hear then complain at all.
of course maybe during taylor and armstrong time they never had anyone close enough.

I guess I started this thread wondering why all the sureness about Lee starting next year. Has POB been less than advertised. I was bummed to hear Lee was in the early lead because I was hoping POB was the "Truth".

He's the leader of the senior class. They don't represent the team which is why he didn't get the votes for captain.

There's a difference, please don't confuse the two.

So each class has a leader, or simply he is tight with the seniors and not the rest of the team?

One guy has been in a college FB program for four years and started for two. Add an (alleged) impressive trip to the Manning Camp. The other kid is 18/19 yrs old and hasn't played a single college snap.

He may still be. At this point though Lee looks like a guy that has faced D-1 defenses for a couple of years. The other looks like he was in high school last year. Ideally your QB gets a couple of years to learn your offense and get used to the speed of D-1 players....in practice.

Burrow certainly would have been a welcome addition to the roster. Thanks Bo and Beck.
Burrow was a Husker Legacy as his brother Jamie played here. NU was the only school he wanted to play for but Pelini and Beck completely blew him off! If I remember correctly he was the 3rd or 4th best dual threat QB in the nation coming out of H.S. Riley made it a priority when he got here to reel him back here, but he chose Bucknuts

Well aware of all that. Sure would have been nice to have the option of having a healthy Burrow take the field yesterday.

Here are some stats of some QB's listed above and then some transfer QBs.

Some of these QBs improved dramatically in their last year or two while others did not.

Who knows how Tanner Lee will do, but it is possible for him to have a good year or two, even though he did not have a great couple years at Tulane...

Russell Wilson - 2 Star Dual-Threat
- NC State SO Year 31TD / 11 INT
- NC State JR Year 28TD / 14 INT
- Wisconsin SR Year 33TD / 4 INT

Tom Brady Pro-Style
- Michigan SO Year 0TD / 0 INT (1997)
- Michigan JR Year 14TD / 10 INT
- Michigan SR Year 16TD / 6 INT
Fun Fact: "Brady narrowed his choice of colleges down to five -- USC, UCLA, Michigan, Cal and Illinois -- and Michigan can thank USC, in part, for getting Brady, because then-Trojans head coach John Robinson decided Brady wasn't good enough to offer a scholarship after offensive coordinator Mike Riley (now Nebraska's head coach) scouted Brady and made a push to bring him to Los Angeles (Riley was the only recruiter who traveled to watch Brady in person during his senior year, his dad says)."

Zac Taylor 3 Stars Pro-Style
- Butler Comm Coll 28TD / 9 INT
- Nebraska JR Year 19TD / 12 INT
- Nebraska SR Year 26TD / 8 INT

Sam Keller 4 Stars Pro-Style
- Arizona St SO Year 5TD / 1 INT
- Arizona St JR Year 20TD / 9 INT
- Nebraska SR Year 14TD / 10 INT

Dakota Prukop
- Montana St SO Year 18TD / 6 INT
- Montana St JR Year 28TD / 10 INT
- Oregon SR Year 8TD / 2 INT

Everett Golson 3 Star Dual-Threat
- Notre Dame SO Year 12TD / 6 INT
- Notre Dame SR Year 29TD / 14 INT
- Florida St SR Year 11TD / 3 INT

Jake Rudock 3 Star Pro-Style
- Iowa SO Year 18TD / 13 INT
- Iowa JR Year 16TD / 5 INT
- Michigan SR Year 20TD / 9 INT

Jeff Driskel 4 Stars Pro-Style
- Florida SO Year 12TD / 5 INT
- Florida JR Year 9TD / 10 INT
- LA Tech SR Year 27TD / 8 INT

Davis Webb 3 Star Pro-Style
- Texas Tech FR Year 20TD / 9 INT
- Texas Tech SO Year 24TD / 13 INT
- California SR Year 35TD / 12 INT

Tanner Lee 2 Star Pro-Style
- Tulane FR Year 12TD / 14 INT
- Tulane SO Year 11TD / 7 INT
- Nebraska JR Year ??/??
