Longtime board member, and 27-year football STH, but this is actually my first post on the WR boards. Wanted to point out a delicious irony , which is so rare as an NU fan. But so wonderful when it happens.

I missed watching most of this game (my kids had ice skating lessons at 2pm, so I followed on my phone at the rink and on WGN radio in my car). Made it home down 8 with about four minutes to play, dashed inside (I may not have even turned the car off!) and turned on BTN right away.

Almost simultaneously, my Purdue grad sister-in-law dropped her kids off for a play date with my kids. She saw that Purdue was on, saw that Purdue was winning, saw the time left, and decided to stay and watch.

Her face kept sinking…and sinking…and sinking…and then her team lost, and my team won.

And it was delicious.

GO CATS!!!!!

(Let me add that my sis-in-law is nice. But I don’t feel bad for her at all, because she talks a lot of trash. Which I am used to, as an NU fan since my “Dark Ages” childhood and, later, a two-time grad school alum.)

Welcome! I'm pretty sure we follow each other on Twitter. Hint: I'm based in DC despite my handle here.
