Defense played well today and he always has the secondary prepared. Impressive resume with NFL experience and a ring. Has done well everywhere he has been. IMHO he should get serious consideration for DC. Thoughts?

Not a chance. If Campbell wanted Poindexter as a DC he would have made the decision already.

This is nothing against Poindexter, he is in the same category as Terry Smith. Highly respected, but not the guy.

Was wondering even before the game if Poindexter was hoping to make his play for DC since Heacock (sp) is out. Is that why nothing has been announced for his future? Find it hard to believe he couldn't have gotten some offers by now as a position coach. If not DC with Campbell maybe somewhere else is his goal.

any evidence that Poindexter even wants the DC job? After Diaz left, wasn’t he offered the position and turned it down, so they hired Tom Allen? He may just want to be a position coach

Defense played very well especially the DBs, was impressed with with Dixon, Taoure, Collins, all playing very physical against the Clemson WRs. Was surprised at how much DDS played and how well he played. He played a lot of snaps and seemed to play urgency when he was on the field. Was impressed with Wiley at LB and the young DEs especially 99 and 44.

I don't recall him turning the position down but I also don't remember what I had for dinner a week ago. He was though the DC at UCONN. Maybe he is happy being a position coach, but again I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't have landed position coach offer by now. That's why I think he maybe looking to step up to DC, either here or elsewhere.

He also may want to be somewhere other than State College. Reports are his house is listed for sale and he is cleaning out his office space. Stay tuned I guess.

My recollection is that his end goal was HC at Virginia. Not sure if that has changed with Virginia's current success, Hilarious to see an ACC team take belt to *** to and SEC team.

Dex is solid . This is interesting. Alamo Bowl Tuesday night at 8 pm

Yep, it appears that Lynn is possibly or even likely the guy based on his answer there and the fact that there is literally no chatter in any of the PSU circles regarding any other potential candidate. There is supposedly some sort of contractual snag that won’t allow Lynn to be announced just yet. It possibly is a requirement to not leave before the bowl game, or it may be that the contractual buyout drops either after the bowl game or on Jan 1. USC is a private school so we’re not entitled to see their contracts like we are for a public university.
