With all the conjecture about our so called deficiency next year,I looked up the stats for Grayson and compared them to the future NBA hall of fame Joel Berry.Berry averaged 3.8 app as opposed to the selfish Grayson"S 3.5apg.I am afraid that .3 app difference will doom us next year

Numbers can be misleading. .3 BAC and you are damn near unconscious. Don't tell that Trooper "ah, .3, I'm fine dude, take a chill pill."

I am one of the few (here at least) that is a bit uneasy about no true PG on the roster. Jackson is a ways out from being a true PG, but he will have to develop quickly IMO.

I would like to think that we will have better scorers than this past season knowing full well that we were an excellent scoring team. I mean we are going to have some players that can really put the ball in the basket and yes I know we did this year also. Hopefully we are much more athletic including better ball handlers at some positions thus offsetting the lack of a truly ecperienced PG.

That .3 is the difference in being one of the top 50 NBA players of all time and a journeyman. OFC

We should have more shooters, better offensive rebounding and better overall passing. Not to mention a ton more depth. One of the keys will be Jackson's ability to D up on quicker guards. That is the one strength of Thornton that could bite us in the arse. I keep thinking of Napier and Boatright and UConn's title run. In a single elimination tournament, one bad matchup is all it takes.

I don't know what Thornton was thinking either, although it sounds like others did his thinking for him.

I think we will be fine on the offensive end, but I do wonder if we might struggle defensively vs quick point guards. We will be nasty on offense with 4 legit scorers and Amile or whoever it is at the center position. I can't wait to see where next year's ride takes us!

I honestly don't know what DT was thinking

He was thinking like a kid, who trusts his family and in particular, his uncle. I don't claim to know their family dynamic or income level. Nor will I claim to know what Thornton's self-assessment was in relation to his playing time next year. Obviously, he made what many, myself included, think was a rash decision based on what appears to be a relative who has delusions of his nephew's abilities, as displayed last season.

Eventually, he would have been a monster. Perhaps he was banking on being the next incarnation of Tyus Jones. If so... nope. Not even close. He needed another year or two of seasoning.

I wish him well. He has the raw talent. But he's green as Hell.
