I don't either, but I do results.
I am not pushing the UF, just using an example of what a university can do when they outlaw DEI and admit the best students in their state. It makes a difference.
Forbes recognized UF as one of just 10 “New Ivy” schools that are “shining in the higher education landscape and churning out smart, driven graduates” who are highly employable. After 10 years a UF graduate will average earnings of $123,700 per year.
It's just so remarkable what they are doing with UF/FSU flagships.
That $6500 two term tuition is cheaper than one term at UK.
By Florida limiting enrollment at the flagships, along with bargain basement tuition, they have created demand. UF/FSU have a 24%/25% acceptance rate with 30/29 average ACT.
UK has the third highest tuition of the public sec universities. Missouri $14800, Tennessee $13800, UK $13500. In order for UK to grow the empire at that tuition rate, it's accepting all comers at a 95% acceptance rate.
We had a short-lived private law school here in Paducah 25 years ago. It was set up for people that couldn't get in anywhere else, but still had the cash or ability to take out loans to attend. Students paid double the going rate, but they got in.
UK is starting to feel like that law school to me.
