I can see nothing false in his statement.

Can you?

The only question is whether it is impolite in respect of the dead.

Imagine being polite to the memory of a guy who called you a Nazi for years and whose crazy rhetoric inspired attempts on your life.
Truth. Reiner has been calling Trump Hitler for about 10 years now.

I regularly condemn Trump's crass behavior. Everyone on here does. Doesn't make him a bad President, with respect to policy, it just makes him an extremely flawed person, socially speaking.

Newsflash, the United States has an extremely long line of Presidents that fit that bill. Like, over HALF of them, to be honest.

Shew... I'm in a bad mood today, after seeing the Packers season get a wooden stake through it's heart yesterday.

In fact, I'm in SUCH a bad mood, that I'm mulling over removing my blocks/ignores on here for the afternoon, because I'd like to slap some ****ing dimwits around (figuratively speaking of course) for a while to blow off steam. SOMEONE needs to pay.
Give 'em hell, good sir.

Not to mention those who have called Trump every name in the book, wished for his death, and actually tried to kill him. Forgive me for not really caring what Trump said about Reiner. That's between him and JC.

“ Despite our differences on policy and politics, I respect Senator John McCain’s service to our country and, in his honor, have signed a proclamation to fly the flag of the United States at half-staff until the day of his interment."

"My deepest sympathies and respect go out to the family of Senator John McCain. Our hearts and prayers are with you!"

Respect to some of you for being normal human beings with souls. I'm still pretty grossed out by the left with Kirk. Can't imagine what his family is still going through and what the Reiners are currently going through a day later. That pain probably never goes away.

Just so we're clear, it's not cool or something to be proud of to lack empathy and sympathy. All Kirk wanted was to have civil debates and when he was killed, many on the left showed a complete lack of normalcy and mocked him. You guys called it out and rightfully so and yet, your leader is doing the same thing, thus, this clearly happens on both sides. You can't play the moral high game here when Trump and some on the right take every opportunity to do similar as the left when it comes to tragedies. You can't spin that as some sort of W to make yourselves feel better about your lives.

To the unhinged here, you're trying too hard. Show a lack of empathy about what happened or make two elderly people having their throats slit by their son into a bizarre political attack against them to your own children or your significant others. They'll look at you like you're insane and you know that which is why you won't do it.

Saw where Anthony Geary (Luke Spencer) has also passed away. Guy was huge in the 80s when he starred on General Hospital. He appeared in one of my favorite episodes of All in the Family where Archie believed Geary's character was gay but it turned out that Archie's good buddy Steve was actually gay.

I appreciate that you are on the side of civility and free speech. Perhaps, then, you can agree that wondering whether mental illness may have driven the son to kill his mentally unstable father is not a lack of empathy, but a natural question in such a circumstance.

On the other hand, Reiner was trying to make a 10-episode show called "The Spy and the Asset" which was about Trump and Putin, and obviously wasn't being kind to Trump in it. Reiner just wasn't a Trump critic. He and his boys in Hollywood were going after Trump with real power. Trump's a vindictive motherfer. It doesn't surprise me he's taking a pot shot. Looks super classless regardless, but I can understand where his head is.

If Trump really said that as a result of Reiners death, that was classless and unpresidential. Reiner was obviously a vocal critic to the point of being insensitive, but DJT absolutely squashed a golden opportunity to rise above and show class.
Don’t care. Plus,NO ONE on the left is going to “rise above it”when Trump dies.
