Honestly just split them up. Conservatives can have ours and libs can have theirs, which they wont use, and still try and come to the Conservatives one, which at least at that point, they can be removed.

But honestly, shouldn't be a problem with two seperate forum threads so long as each side stays in their lane.

If you're only going to allow threads where people agree, good luck with running a message board. People can't agree on anything.

Doesn't seem like any of the conservatives here have a desire to go to a liberal thread. And if the political forum truly has to be locked because of whatever reason, then maybe its time to split it up.

That doesn't mean that liberals can't go there. But they are going there knowing that its a conservative leaning thread (and vice versa). If they can have discussion, then it works. If they just spam post, troll and laugh at themselves like Tweak, with the sole purpose to just be a nuisance, then they get removed. Don't see how thats a problem, especially when most people have Tweak on ignore anyways.

You're not looking for debate. In fact, most of the MAGA base here have stated that they want to only inhale each other's farts instead of escaping the echo chamber.

Before I knew what the political thread had been about years ago, I tried to bring in different perspectives and was immediately attacked - viewed several pages and saw all of the memes and troll posts that MAGA people here made. Why don't you take issue with any of that?

I would need to see examples. And ones that are actually of you "just trying to bring in different perspectices" and "got attacked". Something tells me the tape isnt going to show it that way, especially based on the fact that you spend all your time here just trying to troll.

Its a Kentucky forum so its naturally going go lean right. There have been some non-right posters come through who seem to have some discussion. Irish Beck comes to mind.

Either way, a common political thread wont be able to exist if its going to get locked this easily. If this is how the mods are going to be (and again, I still dont know why it was locked), then might as well just seperate the two. Idk why thats an issue for you. You are free to go make your own echo chamber if you like.

They have an entire political forum and its basically anything goes. Not overly active though at least not as of a few days ago.

I am curious why you all are wanting a political forum on a sports page in the first place? You're going to leave this sports forum for another to be able to talk politics? I know it has become normalized over the last several years since Rivals had it, but that's not exactly a good reason for another sports network to have it. X has turned almost entirely political and theres a long list of actual political forums, and even FB seems politicized, so I don't know why we need to keep/add it in for a sports forum too, even if it is a voluntary aspect to click on it. Call me crazy. Heck, I enjoy talking politics, but I'm not going to be upset if a private sports business wants to keep politics away. If anything that should be considered a good thing. Politics are on about everything now.

moderation without explanation is like policing without a codified law. How do people conform to proper behavior if there is no explanation as to why a thread was closed? Who shuts down these threads? Hidden moderators?
lol, demanding more accountability of message boards mods then the current gov ops.

By popular demand a new place to discuss this fascinating topic. I'd like to give a shout out to the Warsaw UK alumni group in this inaugural post.

Put em on ignore or blast, who cares?
Nobody forces you to enter the swamp thread.

Then we can count on you to stay clear, if it comes back?
Great news!

I don't want to speak in an echo chamber, lol. I enjoyed correcting MAGA posters while also exposing their hypocrisy.

You rarely even added to the thread.

What? Are you asking a serious question, Señor?

Without a Political thread, mods spend more time addressing each individual topic. Political thread consolidates everything.

Between 2005-2007, Cats Illustrated offered a political forum. Helped me maintain my sanity while in Iraq.
