Off topic. Those that know me remember me talking about elevated prostate readings to which I had to go back to my Dr for a finger exam. Now my doctor of thirty plus years retired so now this young lady that I swear can be a model is my new primary. She is a 50 on a scale of 1-10. When I went in for the exam, I was nervous because I never had anybody or anything probe the behind. It was no issue for me but I red flagged her when I went back three weeks in a row. She said no need for that. Another time she was checking the nads as I was worried about one being larger. Again, no issue except for when I started running my fingers through her hair. Now fast forward to today, I went in for my 6-month checkup, all vitals being good and so on, but she ordered a full blood test, urine, and stool sample. Nurse told me to leave my urine in the window then come back to the room for her to get a stool sample. Well, I thought I would kill two birds with one stone, so I just left my boxers in the urine sample window...Now I have to find a new primary care Dr. SMDH
Played the long game for this joke. You’ve earned yourself 1 Crunchwrap Supreme Combo for your efforts. Send me the bill but wait a day or two before your next prostrate exam.

The big thing boosting Beef prices is the ban on imports from Mexico due to screwworms.I think the goal is to get Argentinian Beef to fill the shortage

That is great but....if there are administrative roadblocks preventing smaller domestic operations from selling and distributing beef lets remove those.

Maybe it wont fix the entire problem, but will fix at least some of it.

I always want to start filling supply shortages with domestic product when at all possible.

Perhaps, but I read it's to get Arg to stop selling soybeans to China - which China is heavily buying because they are boycotting US beans due to Trump's high tariffs on them.- which Trump increased due to China's rare earths sales' restrictions. So tariff China & buy Arg beef is the web Trump is weaving. You want China to have low tariffs or want Arg beef? USSC can end this by saying the tariffs singly mandated by Trump are unconstitutional..

#2 House Dimocrat:

"“Shutdowns are terrible and of course there will be, you know, families that are going to suffer. We take that responsibility very seriously,” (OK, you admit you're hurting people but doing it anyway.) the lawmaker said. “But it is one of the few leverage items we have. It is an inflection point in this budget process where we have tried to get the Republicans to meet with us and prioritize the American people.”

That’s right, folks. Clark and her fellow Democrats view the suffering of federal workers and their families as “leverage” to be used against their political opponents."

I will take the high Chinese tariffs and buy Argentenian beef. The US had a surplus in September of $197 billion.

That's fine by me. I have commented on here before about the cheese, peanut butter, and bread lines that people used to stand in during the 70s and 80s. That government cheese made the best grilled cheese ever. That's where the slang for being on the "government cheese" came from.

However, the food stamp program isn't about feeding people. It is about subsidizing big food. Just like the exchange subsidizes insurance companies. Without those subsidies the cost of food would go through the roof. Does that make it a bad idea to cut funds? No. Probably not a bad idea to get the ball rolling, but at this point you can't just gut the entire system unless you want literal food riots.

I am all for sticking it to big food. Just like I posted above they have grown all powerful from tax subsidies. Big meat has been involved in price collusion for decades and have been caught multiple times. Massie's bill won't do ish to help, though.

Thing is, farmers have been selling direct to the public for years, but people are not willing to pay the prices the farmer wants for their product. I know a guy who just closed up shop. There is plenty of feed corn to be had, but the cost of raising a beef is insane. People just won't pay 3k for full beef.

Massie's bill wants to allow custom meat processors, aka; slaughterhouses, to sell direct to restaurants and the public. He also wants to do away with inspections on said facilities. Many processors already sell direct, so I'm not sure what that's about, but no inspections is bad. I can't tell you how bad of an idea that is. If you have never been inside of a meat processor then you have no idea how bad the bad ones really are.

The problem right now with beef are multifold. Subsidies, again, have driven many beef farmers into grain farming because the profits are great, more stable, and less regulated. EPA is a ***** for farmers. Screw worms in Mexico are messing up the supply in a bad way. Worse still they are moving north and Texas is prime beef country. It's game over if they hit there. Water shortages in the west are causing people to give up farming all together. Herds are at a multi-decade low and are not recovering.

All of that has led to cattle selling sky high, the highest I have ever seen, and it doesn't seem like it's going to get better any time soon. If I were a conspiracy theorist I might just say it was done on purpose.

I was too conservative. Maybe the surveillance state, noahide laws, restriction of freedoms, and mandatory digital currency will be implemented sooner than I thought. That's almost the only unrest they would worry about on this scale as it would make conservatives more angry than the left.
That **** is coming. Larry Ellison is globalist all the way and playing Trump. He wants Digital ID. They don’t want us buying crypto currency, because they want to direct us to the one that will eventually become the CBDC. Social Credit Scores coming too. Ellison is all onboard with that.

That's not what I said, and I'm pretty sure you know that. I'll type it more slowly. Lol.

$200-210k for the lot. $125-200/sq ft costs to build (depending on range/quality of amenities). You might get it for less if you finish some of the house yourself, but people needing financing to buy a starter home rarely have the money to finish a new house in which theyd also need to live.

$325k or more to buy and build on the lot mentioned.
How big of a lot are you buying? If you’re paying 200K for a >1 acre lot in a subdivision, you aren’t in a subdivision building affordable homes. That’s a lot priced for $2 million dollar homes and up. Lots should be about 10-15% of the cost of the home being put on it.

I paid something like 40 cents a pound for turkey last year at Kroger. The last think people should whine about is the price of Turkey. Nobody TRULY likes turkey, that’s why it gets priced so cheap. We just tolerate it once a year and smother it with everything to make it palatable. If Chicken went on sale for 40 cents a pound there would be a run on it.
False, but almost true. I truly like turkey. I eat it more times during the year than the holidays. But agree with the chicken sentiment, love that even more. the best thing on the turkey for me though is the wings and legs. I eat most of the turkey when we have it as my wife and daughter while liking it, get tired of it quickly. I also buy those peppered or smoked turkey slices for my sandwiches.

Imo hes doing that to spite massie. Massie keeps trying to get through a bill that lets small beef producers get around the big food/fda monopoly and sell straight to consumers.

That idea would help everyone. It absolutely should've been the solution. Spiting massie is the only reason i can see that he went this route.
I don’t know, but beef is not expensive, and does not need its price artificially driven down by importing foreign beef.
