I guess what I’m trying to say is the percentage of people outraged is no more than 20%. I don’t think it’s anywhere near 40%. I truly think 80% of the country doesn’t give a ****. People talk about the NYC mayor - only 20% of the population even voted! I think that social media has SEVERELY over amplified the extremes on both ends. I think most people, if you go outside, are relatively normal and would find this whole thing with Sweeney ridiculous.

You could be right. Maybe its more like 20%. But I still find that number to be too high and still an little problematic for me. It honestly should far lower than that

And honestly I want it to be low. I want to be wrong here. Because my original post on this (and fear) is that everyone is so firmly planted on the side of their "team" that they will never step to the middle on truly outlandish nonsense.

They are still loaded with 4&5 star players.

Exactly.

And you can bet there were a bunch of them that were looking at UK as a possible transfer destination. There were some really good players out there for the Gators. They just didn't have the direction they needed or the heart left to win that game.

It isn't just "white" wearing that brand. Saw all kinds of people wearing AE last night at the game. I thought it was pretty cool.
As most know on here, I am a veteran with a military police background. Used to, I NEVER spoke of it, but when all the woke BS started years ago, I started wearing patriotic stuff and talking about it when the subject came up. I make a point to compliment someone when I see them wearing something patriotic. These days, every little bit might help in some way.

Alright my man - let’s break it down:

AE is not Duluth or Cabelas, it’s safe to say most of their shopping base is liberal, but let’s be generous and say it’s 50/50. If 40% of the country was outraged at the ad - that’s 80% of liberals, which would be 40% of AEs customer base. They saw an INCREASE in sales of 20%, meaning the only way that happens is: Conservatives TRIPLED their AE purchases or the majority of the country absolutely didn’t give a **** and social media just disproportionately amplified outrage. This is all my opinion of course, but this is also one of the only times we actually have objective data about an “outrage” - which is neat.

I don't believe most of their shopping base is liberal, for starters. I can tell you this, AE is about as much of a "white" brand as Roc-a-wear is a black brand. And a lot of who was outraged by this, were black liberals (and white liberal women lol). They weren't shopping at AE to begin with.

And people can be outraged by an ad and continue to spend on the brand. Those aren't mutually exclusive. And honestly, if you read the posts all over social media, they seem to be more angled at SS than AE. Again, I don't think the AE sales matter much here in the context we think, which is liberals boycotting them. Don't think that was ever going to be much of a factor. Not everyone who is outraged and trying to make things political, will also boycott.

Looks like we’re at an impasse, which is all good! We’ll just have to agree to disagree that people that are outraged at an ad will still shop at that store at the time of their outrage and that white women don’t make up a large percentage of their shopping base - that would mean lots of older guys shop at AE. Again, we’ll just agree to disagree.

White women are still going to buy what their kids want. I'm just telling you my opinion that the outrage does not necessarily mean a boycott has to happen (honestly, the right seems to be more of the "boycott" party anyways).

Weird flex, I wouldn't pin you as the "Agree to disagree but let me take a parting shot at your take" type..

I mean, the SS interview with GQ is arguably the biggest non-news (or pop culture if you will) story of the week. So it's silly to me to hear you think this is a non-issue. If it was truly a non-issue where only a handful of people care, it wouldn't be nearly this big. It's trending numbers are due to the polarity of the issue and the divide in America. Because while maybe not everyone is rioting over this lol, it doesn't mean millions upon millions of liberals aren't taking issue with SS and her interview response.

It’s not a parting shot at all. I like your posts and have for the last 10 years, I just disagree with you. I honestly don’t know what else to say. AE has 50 clothing rivals, I just don’t think they would see an increase in sales if 40% of the country is outraged. I mean what else am I supposed to say? I just genuinely will agree to disagree, not sure what else I’m supposed to do, I haven’t insulted you

It read as a sarcastic in nature remark, but maybe i misread it. Agree to disagree I guess

99% of the time I make the cashier take my order. I'm not paid to take my own order, and I'm certainly not tipping an online cashier jack ****. Wtf... I don't go through self checkout much either.

At some point we have to decide to put a stop to this sht, even if it's inconvenient.

If they won't open more checkout lanes, they can also put the food back I just gathered. Waste my time and I'll waste theirs.
Why not take your business elsewhere vs. b!tvhing?

Sam's friends keeping ppl starving

Dems are fighting to keep health insurance affordable while Pubs fight to raise rates and take food away from poor people and babies in order to keep their tax cuts for billionaires.

My 2000 dollars will go straight to the IRS when I file my 2026 return, since neither of us (I and my wife) have anything withheld from our pay (and, in my case, my retirement benefit) because I don't like to give them a tax free loan.

We know what it's about; the mid-terms...
So how do you fund your taxes? I pay them from my IRA RMD. Just did last week.

That Texas debacle really hurts now.
Two games this year lay solely on coaching decisions made during the games. Ole Miss and Texas. Win those two and we’re sitting at 6-3 and fans are a bit more forgiving. Loved the win last night, and being in the stadium with my son, but still doesn’t address the issues that in year 13 we shouldn’t be dealing with.

If Dims were fighting to keep health insurance affordable, they would not have come up with OCare to begin with & at least would abandon it now. As is, people on OCare can only buy insurance plans approved by the government that are loaded with things they don't need. It's stupidity, yet that what the DIms fight for - citizen stupidity.

Could invest or couple plane tickets. Decisions, decisions.

Sounds good, but we really need to pay on the debt.
Reeks of COVID rebates. Take mine and pay our damn soldiers.

Why anyone would want bigger government after watching these clowns lately is beyond me.

Agree they don’t need to be overlooked but their last 2 games aren’t real impressive. Beat Gardner Webb 27-21 and Eastern Illinois 21-9.

Cumberland NAIA 6-4
Chattanooga 5-5
Davidson 2-8
Tenn State 2-8
Western Illinois 3-7
Charleston Southern 4-6
Lindenwood 4-6
Southeastern Missouri 3-7
Gardner Webb 6-4
Eastern Ill 3-7

Two teams with a winning record and one is NAIA.

hey dummy ... if was "affordable", then other taxpayers wouldn't have to subsidize it.

they passed it and we're now finding out what was in it ... a disaster.

sam, you're in too deep for your cult to be taken seriously... how's retirement? on the taxpayers dime?

Meh. Mamdani won because he was promising free everything. If Trump needs to counter act that with ACTUAL free money (I know, not really free in the end) for citizens. Ill take it.
yep. you have to consider the optics and generally speaking, this is a good optic. now, trump may have libs arguing FOR smaller gov't. (of course, they don't mean ANY of it, they just say what their DA base, like Sam, wants to hear ... doesn't matter if it is the opposite of what they said 2 years ago and doesn't matter if there is no logic to back it up... they need their 5 minutes of hate)
