Still check out the thread from time to time. Yesterday Bowls posted that dem politicians need to be hung for treason, which got several likes and was quoted by Jumper. Last night, Rowland posted not to use this forum to post things like that. After the Kirk assassination, someone posted that "we" need to start shooting back, which got several likes. Rowland had to send out a warning then as well.
Some here just get way too emotional/angry and that's why bans happen. It's not "libs" posing as right wingers. You all are literally liking these over the top posts calling for hangings and the idea that shooting back (whatever that means) is the correct call and then when the guy in charge tells the thread to stop, regulars here pretend it isn't happening or it's a leftist conspiracy. Rowland is clearly reminding the thread to stop the over the top and extremist rhetoric. Calling for hangings of strangers on a public forum would fall under that category.

I'm not sure what you're saying here, but I was reading about the Herodian Dynasty as part of a study recently, and you reminded me of what I learned.
-Herod was Idumean.

-The rabbis at the end of the first century sided with Rome and the later Herodian influence to avoid being slaughtered by the Romans.
It was very interesting to me that almost as soon as we concluded our study, the Israeli and Jewish leadership started talking about Edom and Amalek. Specifically about needing to wipe them out or destroy them. Similar to the focus of the Reich on Judaism, the modern leadership in Israel and abroad has taken to labeling everyone not Israeli (or not supportive of Israel) as Edomites or Amalek.

Haven't watched anything but random clips of a parade in decades, outside of watching the team celebrations after championships. Last music I remember from a parade was a cartoon theme like the Flintstones or Jetsons (not counting the Danke Shoen scene from Ferris Buehler's Day Off).

It's cute/funny, but JDV has this backwards. 18 pound turkeys aren't available all year. They're only available between the beginning of November and the end of December. That's why we buy a few and cook them throughout the year. (We love turkey though.)
I do know people that only eat it at Thanksgiving and really don't like it much. We just don't associate with those people...

You're welcome, pal. And I was explaining that the thread being warned isn't some sort of leftist plot, as you alluded to by saying the poster banned was posting "as an over the top right winger." When regulars are posting about wanting folks hung and then those posts receive several likes by other regulars, you can't pin that on no one but the folks who post here regularly. I think this thread sometimes forgets that it's opened to public view and not a private Facebook account or something. Happy Thanksgiving.

I briefly turned on the Thanksgiving Parade a few moments ago... for maybe about 30 seconds. All I saw was about 20 obese women dancing in white skintight leggings while another woman was singing some song. I have no idea why this was a performance included in the parade, but I quickly moved along to other things.

I saw the posts Nightwish. I alluded to it because I’ve (we’ve) seen it a hundred times. It was obvious. I don’t think it’s some kind of leftist plot. I think the mods do a great job of recognizing guys like last night that are just trying to generate more of that kind of talk. Maybe those type folks get less leeway than “regulars” when emotions are high after seeing Kirk get assassinated or two NGs being shot.
