Do you use your flashers / blinkers / emergency lights when in a heavy rain or snow or fog?

it seems like more people do now than used to. I find them distracting as a driver, making me think you have pulled over, and for that reason dangerous. Same with tow trucks having theirs on when not towing a car, or construction trucks when just driving down the road like everyone else but lights flashing.

Dealt with this a few days ago during Debbie's push up the Northeast.

While I like to put them on, I did notice two different car makes do NOT give the car behind them any indication they have the turn signal on, when using emergency lights.. and it was almost a problem, both times.

I'll throw the hazards on in extreme weather such as torrential rain or blizzard conditions when everyone else is slowed to a crawl. There's always that one asshat that thinks he's under control in his lifted ride and is all systems GO in weather such as that. Maybe my flashers will get their attention. Hazardous weather or not, everyone needs to slow the hell down. Where's the fire? Driving has become much worse over the years.

I actually had to use my Flashers yesterday while driving back from Lexington on I-75. Hit 2 Monsoon Cloud brusts in RockCastle Co. It the hardest rain I have driven in in a along time.

Only if the conditions have caused a limited access highway to slow to a crawl and I am sitting at the bottom of a hill. It’s my “Hey, semi, we’re stopped. Please don’t kill us” lights.
As someone who voted “never”, I approve of your answer, since my girlfriend was almost killed in stopped traffic (no rain or fog or snow) by a pickup truck that didn’t slow down and rear ended her going 70mph.

A dude I worked with’s two cousins were on those raised highways in Louisiana during a torrential downpour. They stopped quick just behind an 18 wheeler… and then another 18 wheeler hit them at about 65 mph. They probably didn’t feel a thing. Squished like a bug. No word on whether they were using their hazards.
