Was looking for the same option. Great team win. Matt was fantastic defensively and set the tone on that end by eliminating Bridges. Thought Chase grew up tonight too.I'm going other for Team. Different guys stepped up in different ways all game. Grayson had a nice stretch
Frank had a nice stretch
Matt played the damndest D I've seen all season
Amile rebounded like a champ
Luke made smart heady offensive plays
Harry had some nice dunks in warm ups. All-around team win.
Amile for sure for me. I thought he had a poor for him first 5-10 minutes but then played really well the last 30.
I struggle voting for someone that went 7-21, took a lot of bad shots, and although played hard, didn't play that good of D (injury or not).
Can we talk a little bit about how Amile has turned into a double-double machine again? Holy cow, just like last season. He's really doing it again. Let's hope Vrank, Chase and Javin can earn some time in practice to give him a break so he doesn't have a stress reaction again.
No offense, but does it surprise you? honest question,I really expected it this year.
I agree completely, but when that's your goal and you go 7-21, i don't feel you did that good of a job. I think until he gets some lift and push off, he should be more of a jump shooter and drive to create for others, and finish if it's absolutely there.I get what you're saying, but all five players aren't out there to play defense. His role was to score and at halftime it's obvious K told him to stop trying to everything and just put the ball in the basket. At some point when you're playing 40 minutes on a bad leg, you have to think about self-preservation for the team.
With that said, I agree with you that Amile had the most consistent game.

You touched on what I think Grayson is on a good team. He's a more athletic JJ, with not quite the shot, and not quite the bball IQ. I don't think you can win a championship with a JJ or Grayson being your clear #1 option and creator for others.I absolutely agree with that. I also think because of his circumstances, he's afforded a little bit of leeway. He didn't kill us and actually was the big difference in Duke's start to the second half. He didn't let a bad half crush his game, he came back and carried the team for a stretch.
But I agree without lift, he's like a fast JJ Redick and a foot injury, particularly to your toe, kills your leaping ability more than it does your ability to run and even cut. Grayson could live in the perimeter for a bit and allow his foot to take less of a pounding.
Also Jayson getting back to full practice in the next week or so should give Grayson a break and a chance to ride the exercise bike during contact drills.

IMHO, on a really good team or NBA, grayson is a spot up shooter, strategic driver, and really good open court player. That's my hope when we get everyone back. Even when fully healthy he isn't that great of a driver. He's more of the "faster than quick." He doesn't have the handles and savvy that luke has, but he has a much more consistent outside shot.
Also, K said Grayson isn't practicing at all.
This is another level. Waiting on getting back 3, not two not one but three NBA players. I too want to enjoy this team as is but I don't believe they can win it all without at least one but most likely two of the injured back healthy.Well, unless you have Carmelo Anthony, no one player is going to lead you to a title, but I see what you're saying. I totally agree about Grayson's NBA future. He has a niche and just like everyone on this team, when you get three NBA caliber players back, that changes and simplifies your role. But for now we can't saying that, because we don't have them.
It sucks that this is what this team will be remembered for. The "when we get _____ back". And as much as we can say, let's focus on who is out there, the inevitable really is hard to ignore.
It's just like "when is Kyrie coming back", or "when is Ryan Kelly coming back", or even to a degree last year "is Amile coming back". The past few years it always seems like we're looking for these superheroes to return and save us. I'm sick of that type of season especially for these kids who are out there giving more than they are almost capable. It shouldn't have to be like that for them. Sorry, rant over, I just want our squad to be full strength and as healthy as they can be.
^ I think most here agree with that. But there's nothing we can do about it. Right now, Duke is playing the hand they've been dealt....and things haven't been bad.
That is a fair assessment.I voted other. Last night was a team win. Grayson struggled, but he flourished. Amile was outstanding but had some head scratchers. Luke carried us for a stretch in the first half when we really needed it, but his shot is still off. Frank disappeared for moments, but then exploded on those back-to-back possessions in the second half to help us build a lead we never relinquished. Matt couldn't throw it in the ocean but his defense was great. Chase gave us much needed minutes from bench.
Bottom line....no one stood out the whole game, but those six individuals all stood out in their own way at important junctures. I couldn't give it to just one guy last night.
