Best game out of Duke this year IMO. I think we worked through the press much better overall until about the last minute anyway. Thought we played some pretty good D overall as well. Love the D changeups and was proud of the way they played with short bench and through injuries (thanks Chase and Grayson).

A tough choice between Luke and Amile.

But you can't say enough about Grayson. He is clearly struggling and in a good deal of discomfort, but he is out there doing everything he can. He is tough as nails.

This was a tough one but I going with Luke because he just abused them from everywhere on the court. Amile my hat's off to you. OFC

Had to go with Amile. Really tough to be the only big as a slightly built 6'9" guy with minimal backup. Duke played almost the entire game with 4 guards.

Voted for Kennard. He scored a third of our points and was unstoppable all game. Amile was a very close second.

I went with Matt. Luke, Grayson and Frank are all scorers and we know they can score.

Amile was showing what he could do last year before the injury.

I went with Matt because all the crap some posters say about him yet he does all the little things needed.

So I assume you will be going with Matt all season then?

I do think we need to lay off Matt. He's given us 4 loyal years, no complaining, a model athlete and student, solid defensive player, always willing to do what is ask of him, has made some big shots in his career for us just like he did yesterday, has played hurt and deserved to be a captain. I just don't get it. If he misses a shot it's always "why did he take that bad shot?" but never say "what a big time shot by Matt" when he makes one. I've been posting here for over 10 years and it's always some one. Why do we need to pick out a player every year and find fault in him every game. Matt is not the first player this happens to and not the last. I can't help but think if the technology existed in the early 70's what kind of board this would be because there would be a ton of players we could choose from. But we have freedom of speech here and the right to voice our opinion and that's what I'm doing. Since Matt is a senior and it's his last year perhaps we need to go ahead and choose our whipping player for next year. OFC

I've always enjoyed Matt's play. He definitely gets his share of criticism from our posters who just think the game is all about scoring. Grayson can make mistakes and the excuse is he's injured. Matt played injured 3/4 of last year and people were complaining about his play then. They all play for Duke and I support everyone of them.
Let's don't start sounding like RR and THR!

If Grayson continues to play like he is now then he will face justified criticism similar to Matt last year. The difference is Grayson has shown he's all american/first team all ACC caliber when he's playing good. Matt is playing solid right now, shot great saturday, not as well Sunday. I just don't see the "he does all the little things". I see that more from Amile then Matt. Amile is doing a little bit of everything and a lot of rebounding. Matt does his job on defense. But he's never been a good at rebounding. He doesn't create many shots for others (he did once for amile sunday). I've said my peace here. I hope Matt lights it up from 3 this year and plays amazing D. But I think we will have more options to cut into everyone's minutes, not just his. I just think Duke needs to have 3 play makers on the court. I believe our play makers when healthy are Grayson, Luke, Frank, Tatum, and Giles. Bolden is close because he can create for himself off of put backs and ok post moves, something Chase is still struggling with.

Why did you quote my post when my post had nothing to do with what you are talking about?

Also, I will go with Chase Jeter as next year's whipping player but Luke's D a distant 2nd place.

You are probably right about Chase. He got some of it last year. I think Luke will start to play a little better D. He's been great this year but when the 3 injured players get back and if Grayson gets back to 100 per cent there's going to be more scoring options. A lot more and the scoring options that play better D will play more. I'm not saying that Luke is going to the bench by any means. You might just see him playing better D. OFC
