Sometimes I really hate doing these after a loss.
I thought the same. My memory isn't all that great but I seem to remember him having at least one if not more than one double/double since he's been at Duke and if I'm remembering correctly then his 10 rebounds tonight wouldn't be a new career high.but I can't believe Marshal set a career high in boards tonight.
He and Amile were great last night. Amile has really been great in all three games (3 double-doubles, right?). Last night was Marshall's first impressive box score, but he has been the clear choice to start in every game.Marshall was amazing and showed a lot ! Had to go with him.. If him and Amile keep that up
Inside and the guards get it together watch out
I can't agree there, as his play didn't happen in a vacuum. His 4 early put-backs were largely b/c they were collapsing on Grayson. If they don't do that, Grayson may have gotten rolling early. If it's simple subtraction, take away Lee from UK, who was only their 4th best last night imo, and we're right there.... I went with Marshall because without him playing like a Boss in the first half we wouldn't have even been in this game.

Early on, UK couldn't stop every leak, and Marshall was the one that went wild. He was the one who kept us in the game, but it wasn't as simple or isolated as going 4-for-5 w/ 6 rbis in a 7-6 10-inning loss.
No problem with you disagreeing, Dat, but still doesn't diminish Marshall's play imo. Every player's play depends on how the defense is defending certain players, and what it allows them to do. You still have to take advantage of it, and Marshall did. After getting the rebound he still had to make some good fakes to get off a shot inside. They weren't dunks, and they could have been missed.
As far as Grayson getting rolling, well if he hadn't insisted on driving time and again after being blocked, or stopped every single time when going to the hole then maybe he could have contributed a little more. I like his aggressiveness, but you have to know when something isn't working to try a different approach. That said, Grayson will be just fine.

I like Allen but last year he went off on a tired Wisconsin team as an unknown. He's very limited in his moves. He's not very athletic side to side.
Your stud is going to be kinnard. The kids stroke is beautiful and him being a UK fan, I still hate cal for letting him go. When his shots start falling, reddick.
I know it's tough, Blue, but I'm all for doing this. It just seems to me if you can't acknowledge the effort then you only support the team when it's winning. These kids feel worse than any of us possibly can.

Since I was here chatting I voted. I'm a UK fan I'm not sure if it's wanted or not but ......
I went with plumlee. He's going to be a big part of Duke this year. I'm shocked he's been this good. I never expected it.
Amile is Amile. He helped you guys to a title last year. Actually, I think he's one of the main reasons you won it. So I'm not giving him the game ball.
I really hate it when an opposing team fan votes other or one of the worst players (or picks other with a smart *** answer about one of their players), so I took it upon myself to limit the choices to the ones that deserve consideration (IMO). I left Jones out because despite his final scoring total I though he played a bad game.
As the poll creator I exercise my prerogative.![]()
Well, I think you're trying to diminish both Duke's victory and Grayson's game against Wisconsin in one shot. We beat Wisconsin (none of this tired BS) fair and square. And Grayson played brilliantly, unknown or not. Hell we even beat Whisky in the Kohl Center. How many times do we need to beat them to prove we were the better team? Kentucky beat Duke last night, and they were the better team, no ifs and buts to it, and I won't make an excuse for it. The difference is that there is a whole season to go, and much can and will happen before it ends.
Grayson will be a huge part of Duke's success this year, despite last night's performance (or lack of it). He is much better than you want to give credit. We'll see how the rest of the season turn outs, and I suspect Grayson is going to be quite good...as well as Duke.
I do agree with you about Luke, he's going to be an excellent player for Duke.

I meant a tired Wisconsin and Allen being an uknown (who was on fire) really benefited Duke and I think that's where lots of the Allen love comes from. He's no secret anymore so it's going to be tougher on him with his althleticism. I mean no disrespect man, Duke looked like the best team standing at the end of the year.
However, IMO, we get stiffed on the tournament draw. You don't honestly believe had Duke and uk's roles been reversed the committee would have made Duke play Wisconsin first do you? Of course not.
If I were a Duke fan I'd love the bias. But I'm not sure I'd just lie about it either.
Again, excuses, S&C. You've got your win over Duke this season, and now you want to make a victory lap by throwing out some left-handed compliments (no insult meant to left-handed people).

Ridiculous assessment of Grayson almost all the way around. His athleticism is great. He's not a PG and he can't go to his left as well. No one thinks he is going to average 27 ppg for the season, but what we saw last night will be rare.I like Allen but last year he went off on a tired Wisconsin team as an unknown. He's very limited in his moves. He's not very athletic side to side.

I get it. No insults or left handed anything. I'm not hiding and acting like I believe in something I don't as to try and be perceived as an *** kisser. But I won't be disrespectful. We agree and disagree.
NODoes a U.K. fan get a vote here? If so, I vote Tyler Ulis. I enjoyed the game last night.
I think you misunderstood me, Phil. I wasn't questioning your choice of who you picked for players to consider. What I stated was that I thought it was important to have a poll even when we lost...and not just putting up the poll when we win.
Anyway, I wasn't criticizing your poll.

Yeah, apparently they just survived a 5-OT game with Kentucky the game before. Jeez, what idiotic logic.Wisconsin was tired? Hahahahaha
I did not read you that way ODD. Just stating why I abbreviated it this time- convo seemed relevant to the discussion.
They were tired because up to that point they had played 39 games while Duke had only played 38. That is an unfathomable advantage and the NCAA should institute an investigation and strip Duke of the title.Wisconsin was tired? Hahahahaha
