Which game were you best at any one point in your life?

Add other game like horseshoes, frisbee golf, badminton, croquet etc. if applicable.

I wasn't best at any, but wasn't worst. I am decent at cornhole when I get going; I am terrible at ping pong and billiards. I am decent at bowling when I can play more. My highest is a 225, but I average about 145-150 (yes, I know, I suck - I love the 7-10 split). I am pretty good at Horseshoes but not unbeatable. That said, I never really put a lot of time into these. In golf, I once shot a 69.........................

on the front nine. I suck at golf.

I never put time in to be good at any but I'd say my best was pool.

It's might be my favorite too along with bowling.

Ping pong. As a kid, we had a ping pong table in the basement.

I was really good at water skiing too. Around 14-16, I could slalom all over the lake, catch air jumping the wake and throw a big roster tail.

Met Minnesota Fats at the Stockyards Restaurant in Nashville years ago. He was a host/maskot for them. A guy asked him for an autograph. Fats reached in his pocket and brought out an ink pad and a stamp. Guy was too lazy to even sign.

New hero.

I effed up my gpa right out the gate at UK thanks to spending too much time in the student center pool room. Seems like it was $0.25 per half hour, or something ridiculously cheap like that. I got pretty decent for that short time before my parents threatened to stop paying my tuition.

Pool. When I was 20 I would have taken any of you on. There is a pool hall in Brewster NY that i played at at least 20 hours a week. Practicing helps.

Does anyone know the Minnesota Fats theory. If your live depended on it would you rather have the physicist that can explain to you exactly how you should hit the ball with the exact english on the ball or would you rather have Minnesota Fats do it with little to no knowledge of why it is happened?

Bowling...Used to carry around a 200 yrs back. Probably couldn't hit 150 now.
Pool...won many a $ at Steepleton's and still play occasionally for fun, although way out of practice in terms of position.
Foosball...loved it but couldn't compete with the speed and technique of the best players. Some of those guys are sick.

I had a friend years ago who was a regular at a pool hall in the town where he lived in indiana, and was a very good player. one day minnesota fats came in and challenged him to one game of 9 ball—the loser would buy their lunch at a popular burger joint next door. fats loses so they go order lunch. when the check comes fats says “you pay it. nobody’s going to believe you beat me anyway.” 😄

You wouldn't think it but straight pool is the best way to figure out how good somebody is. If you don't know what straight pool is, you just hit in balls until you can't anymore. You would play to 200 or whatever number you wanted. Nothing else matters. You hit in the first 14 and then rack the rest. It sounds easy but if you play someone that is good they will set up their next shot way better than you will.
9 ball is good to keep someone that isn't very good in the game. The old poke and hope works sometimes.

Decent at foosball, bad at darts, filthy at most drinking games (notably flip cup, beer hockey, *******).

But above all.. most important.. I'm extremely proud to say I'm awful at bowling.

Have played all three. Bowled a 270 game and several games in the 260s. Averaged in the 190s.

Pre-tuning back in the college days almost always involved darts, usually Cricket. There were a couple of occasions where I missed classes because of some marathon sessions. Still love to play Cricket.

Like many others here, I'd have to say pool. Only it was when I was a kid. My dad's uncle was a former professional pool and he owned a bar. My dad liked to drink so I spent a lot of time in there as a kid. Shooting pool and eating microwave pizzas was all there really was for me to do. I could barely see over the table and shot with the wrong end of the stick.

Foosball ping pong and golf. Love foosball. Played a lot back in the 70’s and got really good. Played in a couple of state tournaments but the guys that beat us were awesome. Have a table in my basement but don’t play much anymore. Was very good in ping pong but don’t play much anymore and I am a 6 handicap in golf. Love all 3 of those activities.

I bowl around 200, I'm decent at darts, and I suck at ping pong and pool.

The only place I ever golfed was at Lure Lodge. I don't like golf and I'm not good at it, but I still miss that little course.

If yinz have ever seen a Ms. Pac-Man in central KY, though -- odds are my initials are in the high score list. :)

Was good at horseshoes. Have several trophies. Never played tournament ping pong but was good at it. Won several hundred dollars playing pool at Saturday night pool tournaments back in the day but also had to fight my way to the truck lol. Have a basement full of Archery tournament trophies. Was always good at any hand-eye coordinated sport. Just too lazy or busy to take it to another level.

Worked at a bowling alley during college days, so free bowling. Won all events scratch one year in the city tournament. A 25 year college baseball coach told my teammates I was the best defensive third baseman he'd ever seen when I was 39 years old and playing on a bum leg.

Dominated at 4 square for YEARS up at Southland Park.

I'd stay in "4", all damn day.

Which way was popular in your region? I always thought 4-square was constantly moving game, where everyone would put the ball to another square, until someone was out. But I've seen some play it where you actually hold the ball in a turn-based manner and do some weird dance-move type **** to get someone out. I always made fun of those poor kids/mongoloids.

Grew up playing pool in George Phillips pool hall in Newport, Ky. Was a pretty good player. My dad taught me a whole lot. He was arguably the best player in Nky / cincy area in the 60's and 70's. He shot left handed and so do I. It's the only ting either of us do left handed. My sons both shoot left handed and do everything else right handed as well. Played Poker all my life and was a decent player. I have 7 WSOP cashes and finished in the top 10 in one WPT event as well.

No Foosball? You guys hate Aaron Rodgers or something?

Having lived the life of a young single man out enjoying the world in my youth I mastered all bar sports except darts as out of all the bar sports, darts has the worst looking women.

Croquet, it was a family tradition game we all played at my grandparents house. Men , women and kids. And it got quite heated at times.

Decent in ping pong in college, I would play way back (6-10' from table) returning slams until other person missed one.

Ok in the others, good enough to not embarrass myself.

I used to be decent at bowling. But it doesn't interest me so I don't play it much. Ping Pong I can do fairly well in.
