Finally!!!!! Just finished my basement and now I need a pool table. I want a nice table for my budget. 5k max. Any and all suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I forgot to mention that my contractor said I have enough room for a full size one. Whatever that is.

Full size is 9 feet, what the pros play on. Lot of tables for recreational use are 8.

I have an olhausen - love the table. Upgrade the cloth to Simonis (spelling)? No regrets

Pool tables sound like a lot fun, then they just sit there.
Pretty soon your cats will find it is a good spot to do cat things.
Then people will put clothes on it.
Then you have to move a big *** pool table.
Nobody wants to move a big *** pool table.
Nobody.

Exceptional for Holiday buffets too.

"Gladys, don't forget about the mashed potatoes. They're over by the left corner--pocket. And the pumpkin pies are by the right center pocket. Delish' and then some."

This. And that’s from a guy on his 2nd house with a pool table.

In addition, 5k is a ridiculous number for a table, including installation.

I have a really nice Olnhausen table. Been a while since I used it. My wife likes to store stuff on it. I tell her don't set anything on the bumpers.

My brother always wanted a pool table for his rec room. Later, after having a pool table for a few years he told me getting that pool table was the 2nd happiest day of his life.

The 1st? The day he got rid of the pool table.

You can get mame machines built with the ability to download and play 100s of games for under 2 grand I think. They build them to spec for whatever look you want.

Mame is the emulator name. Think "can play virtually every arcade game"

They sell the consoles. Downloading whatever you want is your responsibility for obvious reasons (they cant make money off other people's intellectual property). It obviously lets you put legal games on there too.

Hmm. I think I'd rather have a few of those stand-up console video games.
Couple of acquaintances have really gotten into pinball machines. One is single in his 40s and his entire basement is nothing much arcade games (all but two being pinball). The other is married in his 40s and his wife limits him to two machines at a time.

I've got an Olhausen 8 foot table and have played it constantly for the last 10 years.... It's held up perfectly and would for sure recommend... I'd shop used tables honestly in you're area for a hell of a deal on slightly used table..
