Big Z should have got the bulk of the 5 minutes after he became eligible last year, and we watched Cal **** it up for half a season. Can't believe that kid followed Cal to Hog Heaven.
I knew that as soon as he started doing it and did not keep rolling with Zs obvious ability to score at the five.
Instead he benches him says look that's not what we need from you you need to get tougher and stay down low. You can't make this stuff up talk about square peg round hole imagine what could have been if the cow stuck with that lineup and the three best guards and disciplined and practice them as a unit

“I’ll remind you that it’s not a requirement to post” if you don’t agree with my take lol
You didn't even offer a "take." You did the equivalent of butting into a conversation you weren't interested in only to tell people their conversation was stupid. If you did that in the real world, you'd be a huge douche. The same concept applies to message boards.

What was wrong with what PTM said? A lot of us, including myself, get much of our information about our opponents from this board. There are lots of threads here that don't interest me so I don't click on them. I clicked on this one because the Hogs are one of our competitors so I like to know what's going on there without hanging out on their board(if they have one).

Maybe you can answer something for me that I really do not understand: why does somebody click on a thread that does not interest them and make a post stating their lack of interest in that thread? I honestly do not understand the psychology behind that...
lol this board. I never said anything was wrong, he responded to me, I sinply pointed out the the hypocrisy of it. And I can’t answer why someone would click on something that does not interest them. That’s not me, that’s you assuming it because I didn’t agree with it. Why does someone reply in the manner you did? What’s the psychology and reasoning behind that? I didn’t even speak to you in that exchange…: who knows man it’s an open forum and some people can speak without being offended and some can’t, it’s the way of the world I guess

I guess I’m in disagreement with most about Calipari
I think he will have a very good year at Arkansas his first season. We won’t see most of the excuses we’re used to, and I really believe he’s going to put forth an effort we haven’t seen in a long time
This season, he’ll have an older team with some guys who’ve already played for him and know what to expect.
His ego will want to prove something next year…kind of an eff you to us. May even carry into year two
That’s fine, I don’t care. Because I also believe strongly that by his third season he’ll revert to his old ways. But, Arkansas fans will be happy

Actually you putting words in someone’s mouth, making assumptions and then attacking them for it is the definition of insecure douche. It’s an online forum it’s clearly not that serious and none of are as smart as we think we are- yea I think we all need to move past cal which was my clear take btw.

You're not worth wasting anymore time with and I won't clog up this thread arguing with you. You're a jerk who lacks self awareness. I hope you learn and get better. Have a good day sir.

Hugo Gonzalez (SG-Spain-6'6"-Projeted T5 2025 pick) and Nolan Traore (PG-France-6'4"-Projected T10 2025 pick) are the two I heard. Supposedly Bama, Gonzaga, and Xavier are in on Traore as well.

Can't be concerned with with what Arky is doing any more than what any of the other SEC schools are doing. We know Cal will get players. I'm sure he will sign a top class in '25. We know how that pans out these days tt

So your saying Cow didn't play undeserving less productive by numbers freshmen last year over deserving upperclassmen? While Trey only sometimes, I felt like Reeve's often times was sitting unnecessarily while wag or Edwards just HAD to be in there instead of our most productive 3 guard lineup, we all know what it was. So yes
Why dont you just look at avg. minutes per game. It is very easy to do.

I think he will try but again he filled his staff with yes men. Got Payne who is obviously nothing special game planning wise. He lost his best hire in a decade, and replaced Antigua with Brad. Nothing will change his ways he coaches a team and that’s why they will lose.

Has anyone thought about Cal's ego and his needing to have TOTAL control? Let me explain...

One of the things Cal wanted control over was the NIL $$$. Mitch said no. Arkansas said we'll give you lots of NIL to buy a great team. Now obviously the two biggest are Tyson Chicken man and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
Now I don't know much about Tyson, but Jerry Jones is a MASSIVE CONTROL FREAK!! Now if Jones is going to give a lot of $$$, he is going to want something in return!! Examples could be referring players HE WANTS to Cal and if Cal says no, there could be trouble brewing. Even helping Cal pick staff, telling Cal how to coach. If you don't know much about Jones and the Cowboys, you are probably thinking right now, she is nuts and doesn't know what she's talking about.
I used to love the Cowboys when I was younger. I loved Tom Landry, Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer, etc. And some of my favorite players were on the Cowboys. When Jerry Jones bought the team, it took a couple of years, but he started to "help coach". He had many arguments with the coaches and he was down on the field trying to be in charge...never up in the owners box. What's so funny is the arguments were televised and the whole world could watch Jones fighting with his coach. He also had players he did and didn't like(favorites like Cal). He would actually tell the coach who he thought should play. Good players would get fired and bad ones stayed on the team.

It became a chaotic mess and they started to become a bad team. Games they should have won...they didn't.

My point to all of this...what is going to happened after the honeymoon period is over and Jones starts to flex him muscles and give Cal his opinions on any and all subjects? Both being control freaks, how long will that last? Things might be good for a year or two, but things will turn sour.

I agree with @Bkocats that Call will do well for the first or even the second season. He has something to prove. But, the wheels WILL come off. Both men can't help themselves.

GO BIG BLUE AND
COACH POPE, TOO!!!💙💙💙

I'm kind of with you on this one, here's an example why- during the Oakland game he responds to us getting non-stop threes rained on us by inserting multiple non-shooting bigs attempting to out rebound Oakland instead of keep up with their scoring with our obviously best proven scoring lineup and says hey we're fine we're getting the ball inside.
He ALWAYS reverts when he puckers during gametime, we've watched it for nearly two decades.

The fact his game plan was to force the ball into Mitchell was so dumb.

Good luck with that, Hogs. I bet their fans won't pay for a billboard.
Yeah, but that ol chicken nugget headed dude might. Them damn chicken nuggets will get so expensive this next year after Calipari does what he does so maybe we just switch to Banquet 😂.

Btw, **** Tyson Chicken nuggets... Buy Banquet nuggets. They'll be better and safer and much more healthier for you and your kids. Everybody let's do our part and go shoplift two packs of Tyson products and throw em out you could take em to the homeless. Let's loot. 🤣🤣

How about sitting Adou the entire second half after he got like 5 minutes the first half.
While we were getting absolutely smashed on the boards by their lone 6-6 guy over and over again!!! Like he wanted to go big for rebounds but didn't put in his most physical player WTF!!!!!!!
Very shocking Thiero went to Ark after the way Cal misused him for two years, kinda makes you think he will sideline him again in favor of the new flavor flash kids.

I suppose that is why Arkansas has the #1 portal group coming in.
Most older players know your statement to be total BS. You know, they did watch Antonio and Trey last year.
It really seems like I see Cals name on this board as much as I did months ago. It really is time to move on imo.
Half of the portal group are uk players that followed cal. And while Z and Adou a were two of my favorites you have to question both of their IQ levels for following cal after both were misused so badly last year under him.

I think they are both intelligent and made a decision they were comfortable with making. It is really no one else's business when it comes to school choice. I agree, Z was dealt a bad hand by having to sit so long. Adou is a mystery. He seemed to have some type of ailment off and on all year.

They didn’t select a school, they selected a coach who did neither of each any favors last year. It didn’t take a coaching genius to see Z was our best option at the 5 last year with plenty of season to get him ready for March yet cal played yo yo with his minutes from the onset and took away his strength as a stretch 5 by not only restricting his perimeter game he also never ran a single pick and pop with him at the top. Adou playing 6 minutes against Oakland and then following cal to Arkansas was just like WOW, ok adou!!!

Yeah he was sick and tired of Edwards getting about all the minutes he and everybody else knew he deserved!!! We all saw it.

This is generally my estimation of the situation as well. I do not think Cal is totally incompetent, but I'm absolutely convinced he is the laziest coach in America. It's easier to create slogans and "tweaks" than to actually coach and work on executing game plans, scouting opponents, make your players get down in a defensive stance, not buy constant shot fakes. etc. I believe he has 2 things working for him this season. All eyes will be on the new coach, so he absolutely cannot get away with the laziness he has been getting away with here for years. And I seriously doubt their AD will let him get away with some of the stuff our AD did. Secondly, he has a few returning sophomores from Kentucky. BUT, he absolutely will revert to his extreme laziness when he feels he isn't being as scrutinized like he will his first year. I'd be shocked if he is at Arky in 5 years.

I got a big grin going when he replaced Welch with Brad and Pope was signing up Baylor's best recruiter at the same time!! Cow is desperately clinging on to what he knows instead of accepting he has to change and let others help him. He's showing all the signs he won't.

Reeves played more minutes than anyone on the team, 31.4 minutes per game. Trey averaged 30.3 and Reed 28.9. Edwards and Adou avg. was 21.4 each. That's with Adou battling back issues for much of the season. So, I am saying Cal didn't play freshman over more deserving upperclassmen. Who are the upperclassmen you are talking about?

I was thinking of Reeves playing more along w the best guards(Shepard, Dilly) , not being utilized separately as the "guy" to take over which is Cals style.
Definitely Thiero deserved minutes over Edwards many times.
Also felt like Mitchell was not used correctly when distribution and shooting was needed and he was superior to Wagner who was instead depended on.
The total of minutes played isn't the only thing to look at.
Traditionally we've seen this a lot.
