I mean a lot of the transfers are one and done types sometimes too of a different shade.

NIL and money are king. We have the most expensive roster n basketball so obviously fans are gonna expect big results going forward and nothing wrong with that.

People also need to understand spending the most guarantees nothing. It just theoretically will have us in elite 8 or so contention every year and there and beyond you need to be healthy, lucky and make sure the refs dont cheat you.
If this is the most expensive roster in college, uk needs a refund. Know that we haven't seen Lowe and jq haven't played but there are a lot of holes from those that have played, especially shooting and shot blocking

Antigua was on Cal's staff for many years and once Duke started playing in the one-and-done arena, they took every recruit they wanted and many of them were taken right out of Cal's back pocket.

Zion was OA's guy, he was a UK lock at one point, but Scheyer and K punked our whole staff there and many times before and after.

Let's not act like OA got whoever he wanted and let's not act like he would have landed Wilkerson, Sarr, Dent, or anyone else, because nobody knows what those kids were looking for.

Wilkerson wanted big money and promises, so it probably wasn't up to him. Pope may have told him no.
Wilkerson may have been worth it after watching him tonight

We also missed on atleast two key guys in the portal. Would Antigua have landed them? Maybe not but I’d atleast feel like had as good of a shot to get them as possible if he were here.

One of Brooks/Hart shouldn’t have been hired. IMO it would have been Hart left off in favor of Orlando. I feel even more sure of that after seeing the recruiting results the first 1.5 years.

To me and maybe I missed something, I just wasn’t that taken by Antigua 2.0. Probably more to do with Calipari than him, but Post USF Antigua just didn’t seem the same to me. Didn’t have that same impact. When he returned I was expecting the same and contributed his absence to a lot of Calipari’s recruiting issues. I think Nike was more to do with Calipari’s success and failures than any of his assistants. People also think Robin was the end all, but Robin Robic was always just a dugout mom at Memphis. When Calipari signed up all those NBA OAD’s he got himself arrogant and didn’t think Nike could sway those kids to a guy like coach k who had a bad rep with the OAD crowd. But they were able to do it and Calipari’s arrogance eroded him. Just not sure any of it was about Orlando looking back, but I do like OA. Glad he was part of it. But Pope wanted a clean break I think it was necessary.
