Pope talks in riddles alot. It's fine when things are going good but after a lackluster performance that we obviously weren't ready for its kinda aggravating tbh. If this was our first not ready game then I could over look it, but we basically lived the same exact thing against Georgetown. It's almost starting to become a trend. We were sold on these guys being defensive dawgs where exactly has that been?

He talks like every coach I ever heard. Better than most. Now if you are expecting him to say he is going to consult the Bennies before every game…..yeah, not happening

The players and coaches had a front row seat to a big *** KICKING in Louisville and now er are hearing nothing but BS and double speak. This sounds and feels way too much like Calipari's last 10 years. Is Pope's culture change all talk and NO performance? Are they players driving the bus now? Pope said his players, had poor body language, lost focus and did not follow the game plan. Seems like a rerun of the past 10 years.

Three games in. Three. Too early to hit the panic button.

So many are quick to throw Pope out to the wolves for losing to Louisville. Some teams take some more time to gel. The injury bug we've had is bizarre, but not on Pope. We've seen Pope squeeze out as much success as possible with guys out last year.

We got Aberdeen. He is more than capable of shouldering the load for 30+ mins a game.

Pope’s direct quote immediately after the game was “I was proud of the comeback effort, we have a competitive team, but that’s not the standard at Kentucky

Cal would have been like “they aren’t robots, we didn’t watch any film at all, I haven’t seen Trent Noah, and I’m going home to watch little house with my dog”. Oh wait, he wouldn’t have actually said any of that… because his thieving @SS wouldn’t even be out there to face the media. One of his assistants would.

That would make some so happy. He should have his analytics guy tell him during timeouts what RR says he should be doing.
Well, someone needs to help him with defense. Maybe not Rupp Rafters but someone. I don’t want to get old and die without passing UCLA in championships.

I disagree. It is Cal 2.0 in the front of the camera. I still cannot get past Pope comparing this team to the 96 team. This team would lose by 50 to the 96 team. He says crap to sugar coat everything with the fans. The one mistake he definitely has made in the first year is he did not learn anything from Cal's mistake. Stop talking so much BS in front of the camera.

He is exactly like Cal as far as coach speak. But they all are.

But his first year was not better than two 2 seeds in Cal’s last five years.

And ‘20 won the SEC by 3 games. Certainly not better than that.

Yeah, that's why they earn many millions of dollars more than the coaches, right?
Have you ever criticized a coach? Did you criticize anything Cal did? If you did, don’t cast stones at the other Bennies who like to provide criticism. Even John Calipari knows 100,000 times more about basketball than most of us, but that doesn’t mean there’s a damn thing wrong with saying, “Maybe playing Ugonna Onyenso and Lance Ware together is a bad idea”. Cmon bro

He has mental issues. There are tons of incompetent coaches.

I still don't get why Pope brought up something upsetting happening before the game but not saying what it was. What was the point?

He went to sweet 16 and beat 5 top 10 teams. Cal dod neither those 5 years. I believe 20 he was gonna be a three or four seed. Pope has been much more open with this information and Ben much more respectful to the fans the Cal was the last five years.

In public, actually, no, I didn't. There is a time to critic and a time not to.

Then, we will just never agree. You may want to put me on ignore coz I enjoyed criticizing Cal and will criticize Pope too. Arguing and debating these topics are something I enjoy and I don’t think that’s a bad way to be. I do think there’s a line and I never try to cross it. I always believe in being fair and respectful about critique. The idea of let’s be Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood as a fanbase is untenable when we care as much as we do.

So you don't mind if I crap on the program in front of the entire US for pointless stupid stuff like not jacking enough threes or coach not having a plan with each and every possible injury? I discuss the game and play. I was pretty critical of the defense. I find the crying about offense utterly comical. I talk about how the program is likely to deal with various situations. Attacking the school and program especially for things beyond their control is pointless. That's just being a jerk when the parties involved can't defend themselves. If you get off on that, I guess that's your thing. Just seems cowardly to me.

Ignore? I don't put anyone on ignore. Gives them too much power and rather stupid at the same time.

I haven't seen you discuss much but the mechanics of the game. Actually, Pope has been rougher on that than anyone. I don't have any issue whatever discussing basketball. Talk about firing the coach and this sort of BS just hurts the program and has zero effect on people that actually make those decisions. They know the lunatic fringe hangs out in social media.

I agree with you on that. I don’t like that either.
