I loved that he cut through some of the hypocrisy and self-righteousness of the church. He was a good Pope.
Unfortunately down here in KY, people are going to flipping out hearing Pope died until they realize it isn’t UK’s basketball coach.

My aunt the CSC nun was at our Easter lunch yesterday and cleared up my misconception that she graduated Saint Mary’s in South Bend. “I graduated Seattle University. All five of us (meaning her four brothers and herself) graduated Jesuit schools.” Holy Cross, Georgetown (2), Fordham, Seattle.

I should text her. She’s going to be sad.

Coincidentally, last night my wife and I were going to watch Conclave but were both too tired. Planning to watch it this week now.

I saw that Pope Francis met with VP Vance yesterday. Did Vance drop him? 😞

My wife, a devout Catholic, is sad today.

My daughter is enrolling at a Jesuit college next year, Xavier. I love the approach.

We watched Conclave a couple of weeks ago. Compelling.

Popes, like Supreme Court Justices, hang around too long. The method for replacing them seems somewhat antiquated as well.

Having said that, it is always entertaining.

He certainly stood up for the marginalized. RIP Pope from Argentina.

My wife and I were talking about the same dam thing! Good grief, don’t touch Vance!!!!
God bless and may Pope Francis rest! I knew the guy was different when he insisted on taking his own luggage and paying his bill at the counter.

You don't like the approach of locking a bunch of men, who have sworn off women, in a room for days where no one can see what they do? I kid.

My Aunt Mary, lone surviving sibling of my Dad, passed away on Easter Sunday at 91. She was married to a '52 West Point graduate who passed a few years ago. I was lucky enough to get up to Virginia and visit my Aunt Mary last year while she was still on the ball. Not surprising the Good Lord called her home on Easter Sunday.

... and I am still shocked I lived to see a Jesuit as Pope.

Sorry for your loss. Glad you had time with her in her last days.

Certainly, seemed like a fine human. I admired his quality of humbleness in light of all the pomp and grandeur accorded his position as Pope. Enjoy the next phase to Eternity Pope Francis.

A note: The movie the "Two Popes" featuring Anthony Hopkins (Pope Benedict) and Jonathan Pryce (Pope Francis) is absolutely wonderful film, if you haven't had a chance to see it well worth the time regardless of your religious affiliation.

Shalom
