The director of NBA Academy Latin America is Walter Roese, a former BYU-Hawai'i player and former BYU assistant coach (under Dave Rose) with whom Mark Pope has an established coaching relationship. He has connected multiple prospects to BYU over the years, so don't be surprised to see Pope continue this relationship at Kentucky.

The current top overall transfer in America according to ESPN is Oumar Ballo, who played last season for Arizona. Although he was born in Mali, he actually played in Mexico City for NBA Academy Latin America. He's a dominant rebounder and paint presence. Don't be surprised to see Kentucky become a player with him and multiple other players involved with this pipeline.

I still think it would rock to have an overseas recruiting coordinator.
Any college with money to spend on staff should invest in a role of that nature. I know that UCLA has a dedicated Director of International Recruiting from Serbia who also has ties to Spain. Pope frequently recruited international players at BYU, and I wouldn't expect that to change.
