I’m one of the few people on the planet who actually liked Waterworld.
The only bad part of Water world imo is the Dennis Hopper basically playing himself.

I am pretty sure I'm the only person on the planet that likes Battlefield Earth

Since Field of Dreams is widely considered one of the greatest sports movies of all time, what is everyone’s favorite sports movie?

Rocky is probably my all time favorite.

Remember the Titans is up there for me.

I loved The Sandlot.

Field of Dreams was good.

Parts of A League of Their Own was filmed in Evansville, I believe. One of my teacher buddies told me some of his friends ditched class one day to be extras in it as they needed people to be in the crowd for the game scenes.

Hoosiers is up there.

Seabiscuit is great.

Cinderella Man.

The Rookie (Dennis Quaid).

So many good ones.
Rocky IV
Major League
Glory Road
Bull Durham
Moneyball
Tin Cup
Friday night lights

Just throwing some others out there.

Cinderella Man, Hoosiers and Rudy are probably my favorite sports movies.
As far as Sports movies go, it's kinda difficult because even the best have a difficult time recreating the sports to seem realistic. A lot of times it comes across fairly cheesy, which is why most of my favorites are the comedies that you understand are going to be cheesy going in. But for the more serious movies, it would have to be the Rocky movies, Rudy, Field of Dreams and Hoosiers. As for the Comedy, There's, Major League, The Waterboy, The Longest Yard, The Sandlot and some of the old Nostalgic Bad News Bears movies.

LOL, @wardlow gave me a sad face. C'mon Wardlow, it has Tom Petty in it. 😂
I was just waiting for someone to say The Postman. I liked it and Waterworld more than I should have, along with Dances with Wolves and Wyatt Earp.

Pretty sure I even saw The Bodyguard someone mentioned above.

Costner is one of those actors that basically just plays himself in every movie just in a different costume. Elliot Gould was the same way, cant change that voice.

The ultimate 'I'm just going to play myself' actor was Gene Hackman.

My favorite sports movies are Caddyshack, Rocky, Major League, Tin Cup, and Field of Dreams, Blue Chips, and He Got Game. Costner has been in a bunch of good ones. I would also throw in Talledega Nights.

He changed it for yellowstone, but that's the first time I have ever seen him as a different character.

I love every movie you mentioned except field of dreams.
I'll let you in on a secret I have had for years…. Never seen field of dreams, most of my friends just assume I have.
Same with the Godfather movies. I tried to watch the 1st one, but fell asleep 10 minutes in. Just not my cup of tea.

Damn, I forgot about Caddyshack, that's like forgetting 'Christmas vacation' when listing best christmas movies. Ugh.
