I wanted Cal gone and don't miss him. He cared more about putting players in the NBA than anything else imo. I like Pope, but I fear he is being overwhelmed a combination of the glare of the UK job and the new era of college sports.
lol, d@mn dude.I hate the man..
Playing above the rim doesn’t mean **** if you can’t make it out of the first round. Too many fans want entertainment instead of championships, got to the point where Cal got so bad at coaching he had to pump up draft night. Only difference between Pope and Cal is blue chips vs wood chips. We have no talent outside of Oweh. None. You guys wanted Cal gone. I use to love playing above the rim instead of playing soft. Im done for the rest of the year. This is my least favorite team of all time in Kentucky history.
It's really not Pope's fault so I'm trying to not be so mad at him directly. It's not his fault that he was not qualified for this job. He NEVER should have gotten a call. All he did was accept his dream job.I wanted Cal gone and don't miss him. He cared more about putting players in the NBA than anything else imo. I like Pope, but I fear he is being overwhelmed a combination of the glare of the UK job and the new era of college sports.
I feel like they shouldn't have ever been fighting behind in this game to begin with, but I give them credit for coming back taking an 8 point lead, which honestly should have been enough to win the game. But what happened from that point on, wasn't on Mark Pope, it was on the selfish, overpaid players. Pope called plays that they normally run and should had worked out fine, but the players on the floor didn't run those plays and committed turnover after turnover and on top of the turnovers, they played no defense to keep from losing the lead. Garrison dribbling end to end to throw the ball away? Oweh missing a layup that would have tied up the game and probably sent it to overtime? They choked under the pressure and didn't do the things that they were told to do. I feel like that's one of the main problems with this group over overpaid players; they don't feel the need to listen to their coach. I'm not saying that Pope isn't part of the problem; as much as I like Mark Pope and want him to succeed, it does seem like this job is probably too big for him. The combination of those things is just making a terrible season. His inability to adjust, to run a different offensive set or hell any set at all and his lack of ability to even draw up an out of bounds play is baffling. If he can’t do any of that you have to ask yourself what can he do?
We called a timeout out a little over a minute left, turned it over. Then the last possession we call a timeout only to inbound to Lowe and get off a contested three with zero picks, passes or anything? Why even call a timeout if you aren’t capable of running a play? Every team we play runs plays after timeouts to perfection on us and we literally never do it. Basic basketball 101 and Pope doesn’t seem to understand it.
It's the Bates/Jacobs in me..lol, d@mn dude.
I can’t disagree but you’re so blunt
