The guys on ESPN (Jay Williams, Greenberg, Bilas, etc.) basically said we have no chance to make any run in this tournament because we "aren't defending very well right now" (even though we have been a top 20 defensive team since the Ole Miss game) and because losing Butler is really costly (even though he's healthy).

It's almost comical at this point with those guys.

Bilas added that they have been playing better Def recently. Not trying to defend the guy, but he did say it.

Screw the Duke slurpers. Duke has ZERO SEC teams in their bracket while we have two, not to mention playing at home. Even Bias said puke has the easiest route to a FF.
What are you talking about, alabama is the 2 seed in dukes bracket, Vansy is the 10 seed, and they potentially play Miss st in the 2nd rd

We are not going to see him at 100% in a Kentucky uniform again so if that’s what you mean I agree. We only need him at about 80% to be well above everything else we have. Even one-handed Butler was huge for us
This is exactly what I meant. Everytime he hits the floor I cringe. We sure have some douchebags on here saying some mighty uneducated things. You can’t have a different opinion without being called a non fan.

But he was the very first one to say we aren't defending at a high level, he actually said "they were defending a bit better for a bit BUT....", basically just discounted all of our defensive improvements because of the Alabama game

We're less than 72 hours from when he was hurt on Thursday. How is the injury okay now but there's no way he could have played against Alabama? It's whatever though, I'm glad he'll be good to go in the tourney.

Think he was held out as a precaution. Pope knew we weren't winning that game regardless and it was a meaningless game to our ncaa seed.

We were told pretty plainly on the broadcast that he was kept out for precautionary measures. If it had been championship he would have played

For the Alabama game, given the decision was being made maybe 12-14 hours after the injury, they didn’t know the extent of his injury or whether it was a re-injury or something new. Now they must have positive imaging.

So probably Butler pays 9 minutes then leaves injured. Hope not but it’s been that way.

Call me a pessimist but I don’t think he’s anywhere close to healthy.
I agree. My understanding from Pope when he originally injured his shoulder it wasn’t something that just needed time to heal. That shoulder has been heavily wrapped since then. I doubt he could take a hard fall and be ok. He appears to be protecting it. Not driving often to the basket as before the injury. I do believe if we are down he will throw caution to the wind and give 100%.

No. It hasn’t.

He played 20 min at Oklahoma (limited due to fouls)

Played 35 minutes at Auburn

Played 25 min va LSU and Mizzou.

…they went to a lesser support brace for the Oklahoma SECT game and he tweaked it. They’ll go back to the heavy brace that allowed him to play 4 straight games after recovering the first time
