Said Otega Oweh has been the most productive player this summer. Also said Carr went 5 straight practices without missing a shot. Amari Williams and Brandon Garrison have been 2nd and 3rd in assists. All in all it was a great interview and worth a listen.

Oweh might start at the 2 this season.

Pope is trying to recreate those Championship Florida teams. Good shooting with big men who can pass

As is the case with all things in life, I will believe it when I see it.

The SEC, year over year, boasts the best athletes in the country. Not saying Robinson won't perform well defensively, but I actually need to see it on the court.

As long as we win way more than we lose, are a fun brand of basketball, competitive in all games (unless we are blowing the team off the floor). It will be a very good year. Then get to post season and use the SEC Tourney to tune up for NCAA tourney. Keep us injury free is the last big thing. Guys deserving playing time will get playing time. Each game (I think) you will see by how they play, guys getting more or less minutes for that game. I do not think you will see a guy starting to not hurt their heart. You will see guys starting because they deserve to start.

I think we will see a legit in game coach, in game assistant coaches doing what each do best. I think we will see a better brand of UK BASKETBALL each and every week. Sure we will have a bump or 3 in the road but this staff can get the car back on the straight and narrow to reach our goals (our goals meaning, the teams, coaches and fans goals).

It is time to dust off my old CANT see the forest for the Three's tee shirt (hopefully no mice or anything has gotten to them as the old 90s tee shirts have been in storage for a long time now.

Anyone got a Flux capacitor part number and some extra plutonium laying around? Enough is enough. I'm ready.

Go Cats!!!
Your talking out of this world, I like it, I'm ready to.
Got a feeling that Mark Pope is going to put the excitement back into UK basketball. How depressing would it be if Calipari was still here

What day is Big Blue Madness? Can you get tickets in advance? I live so far away, I have never considered going. The last 10 years had no interest in going. The whole Chairman of the Board Year with Calipari was it for me with even watching it on TV, much less going.

Updated minute projections (including by position):
C: Williams 24, Garrison 16
PF: Carr 30, Almonor 10
SF: Robinson 26, Oweh 10, Noah 2, Chandler 2
SG: Brea 20, Oweh 14, Kriisa 4, Perry 2
PG: Butler 24, Kriisa 16

30 Carr (leads in min, not because better than Robinson, but because less depth at his position)
26 Robinson
24 Butler
24 Williams
24 Oweh
20 Kriisa
20 Brea
16 Garrison
10 Almonor
2 Chandler
2 Noah
2 Perry

Honestly, I'd like to give almost every one of them more minutes, but to do so, you have to take from someone, while at the same time keeping the positions balanced (like you can't take 4 from Carr and give to Kriisa).

I'm still not crazy about having a point guard that can't shoot. I was hoping that was over when Cal left.
Butler isn't a terrible shooter imo. We've had worse shooting PGs in recent past. SD State isn't a very shooter friendly system and Keshad Johnson took a big step up in his #s at Arizona. Wishful thinking Butler will do the same.

Also helps when at least 3 other guys on the court are good to great shooters. If Butler could get to 35% on 3 attempts, that'll be enough

It’s isn’t that big of a deal to have a PG that’s 30-33% when your 2,3, and 4 are lights out shooting above 35%. Cals issue was he preferred only playing 2 guards and if one of them couldn’t shoot, then you only had 1 shooter on the floor bc the 3, 4, and 5 couldn’t shoot outside of 10 feet either. Rondo was atrocious from 3 and is a borderline HOFer bc he always had shooting around him and focused on attacking space and facilitating.

I’m not crazy about having a final four caliber point guard either. Especially one that hit the last second game winning shot in the final four that sent his team to the championship. Nope, not my kind of player either.

I'm sure his 59% free throw makes you happy too. It's okay to discuss that a player has weaknessess.
