Was talking about how we are 55th in continuity or something. Did anyone else catch it? He said it had to change does that mean he’s going to tighten up the lineup? Someone was talking to me while I was trying to pay attention and missed it.

He's got to bring back or refresh the team some how......We avg'd near 90 a game beginning the season.
The beauty in this, is that you can choose to win multiple ways, by scoring 2's, 3's, free throws, etc....and you got a chance to play good defense.. Maybe we see more zone. I dunno.

Looking back, he may have been right to.
The scoring went down a bit as our defensive efficiency went up. We forced opponents into longer possessions. Plus We lost Robinson who was scoring at a high clip coming off several 20 point games. Tough to replace. We also had Kerr Krissa till late in the Gonzaga game. The injuries and lack of continuity did a number on us this year. If the whole team stays healthy we win several of those we lost and are looking at a two seed at worst and a final four dark horse.
Just listened and I believe "Minutes continuity" .... minutes being played by players, i.e., injuries. Availability of players.

Okay. With a decimated roster it would make sense that the minutes are very much spread out and different from earlier in the season.
It also went down because our offense became a one-trick pony. No need to really protect the rim because we weren't rebounding, and the bigs were all outside the paint. Just play ring-around-the-rosy with the guards picking straws on who would get the handoff.
I hope he learned that our freshman don't measure up well against good D1 players and has a only one freshman on the floor at any time rule. At this point I would rather see Alminor as the two guard substitute if Perry is brought on as point
that’s why I asked because I heard fragments but it sounded to me like he was going to tighten up the lineup. He said that it’s going to change. I liked popes demeanor in that interview and he seems loose and confident which will translate to the players.

Almonor has been killing it lately. Idk how we can’t play him.

We really need him to make shots and rebound when he's in because his defense is worse than Noah's.
As much as games stop nowadays, between media timeouts and monitor reviews, fatigue should never be an issue. Keep your best players on the floor.

Good offensive teams are going to put up points on our defense. I think at this point we just need to accept that because it's not going to magically change in a week.
When we beat Florida, we had to have a historic night on offense to do so. We literally had to have the best offensive performance on a points per possession basis since 1997.
This team is going to live and die with whether or not our offense can keep up with the opponent. We are very much dependent on shooting and not turning the ball over. To go on any run this March, those two things will have to continue.

I read that over the last several games we have been top 20 in defensive efficiency. I don’t know where to find it to link it but it was like going back 6 weeks so we are trending in the right direction
His said it’s going to change so that can’t be it. He’s talking about rotations tightening things up. I think it was pretty clear against bama and really all season that Perry is unplayable he’s far from ready. Hopefully he plays butler 30 min a game. Pope says he’s fully healthy. And chandler backs him up. We are 355th because pope changes this and that always trying different combos. Hopefully his high IQ you allude to will lead him to the right conclusions on his rotation.

355th in minutes continuity thru the year. Basically a measure on lineup consistency over the year. We had some absurd number of different lineups this year. Roles changed all year round. We had 4 guys available for all 31 games.
I don't think we have enough players to tighten up our lineup a whole lot.

I worry some of this was a by product of who we were facing tho.
We put up good numbers:
vs South Carolina (held them to their 2nd lowest total)
vs UT (3rd lowest total)
vs Vandy (2nd lowest)
vs LSU (3rd lowest)
Conversely, the two Alabama games we gave up 1.20 both times. Vs Auburn we gave up 1.27. If we go back to Feb 1st, we also gave up 1.23 to Arkansas and 1.38 to Ole Miss. Granted good offensive teams are going to put up good numbers most of the time but even compared to their averages we gave up wayyyy more.
Overall our adjusted def efficiency did go down and that's good but I still think this is very much a team that's dependent on big offensive nights.
Most do. But this team needs depth to maintain pace. Pace is what helped us beat Duke and Gonzaga. We are at our best when we play with pace. So, I fully expect to see all ten play, some games more than others.
Yes. It's not something that he wanted to do. It's the result of all the injuries.

I do believe this team will absolutely be better prepared though. I don’t think last year’s teams knew much about Oakland.
You have to keep playing him with the hopes he develops better. Butler has to rest more than he should. Have to keep him healthy for sweet sixteen
I think Pope will no doubt have them ready.
My main concern is the health of Butler with this. Going against a team that forces a bunch of turnovers, we need our point guard in there and not only in there but he needs to be relatively healthy to the point he's effective. Because Butler hasn't exactly looked the same lately.
If he's ready to go, Troy IMO doesn't become an issue. They likely won't be an issue anyways. We are due for a non upset here lol.
For the Sweet 16? Hopefully UK can build a big lead where Butler can rest but can’t be thinking ahead.
