I think they will finish strong. Just need to get those 3 starters in the lineup. No team in the country could excel without their starting pg, pf and lottery c. Just got to hang in there.

If I had to bet on it, I am willing to say Pope gets a third year no matter what happens the rest of this season. If next year is marginally better, the same or worse, he will be dismissed and the perception among coaches will be he got a fair shake.
Also, Barnhart isn’t getting fired, y’all. He’s been here 23 years and is in his final contract year. My guess is Barney retires, new AD inherits Pope and hires the next men’s basketball coach.
Coaches will be more inclined to follow Pope! IU is gonna dictate a lot IMO
Hey Mark, the MAIN problem isn't the effort or approach, it's the idiot who constructed this team. YOU brought in 12 role players, no shooters, no alphas, all betas, and about as mentally fragile as any group I've ever seen. There is not an elite talent. You paid a bunch of 5th and 6th men like they were elite NBA types when they're not even good enough to start anywhere else. This debacle is all at the feet of Mark Pope. Is that painful to you Mark? It should be. But I bet you've laid the blame on these players, not yourself. Looking the mirror and find the culprit. Who evaluated these players? They were drunk or high on something and should all be fired, or they need serious eye exams. No leaders here. All waiting to follow ANYONE else. And apparently, they don't even know HOW to box out. not that I’m advocating firing yet but we’ve fired a coach after 2 seasons and ended up the hottest team in the country over night. Just depends on what is it, the reasons for it.
Barnhart should have been ran out of here in 2007. Any other AD would have. This JMI contract was incredibly stupid but gotta keep as much money in house as possible. He’s sacrificed our teams. Worst Ad We’ve ever had who’s the worst gaslighter we’ve ever had too.

I don’t disagree that Barnhart sucks. I am beyond ready for him to go. He should’ve been shown the door after the Joker debacle at the very latest.
I should also note BCG was not fired for not winning enough. He was fired for cause for off court issues and refusal to sign his official contract. If Billy signs his contract and isn’t a sex-crazed drunkard outside of work, he likely gets a year 3 and is fired after the 2009-10 season. We got lucky his demons did him in a year before Mitch would have.

I went to UK for grad and my uncles went all the way through. My father was in Vietnam he couldn’t go. He can’t speak? we’ve had a traveling chapter since I was a kid. There does seem to be a handful of people who are ecstatic the team is 6-4. Actively hoping and praying Pope gets fired because they want a coach who aint coming here to lead the team.
Pope also said he’s bi winning and has tiger blood in his veins. When he said this I knew we would get number 9 this year.
