Saw this on KSR. Didn't see a thread here dedicated to a nickname for Nashville. If there is one, I apologize. Curious as to what you guys can come up with? All I got is The Kentucky BlueNash as a play on the Kentucky Bluegrass. I'm sure there are better ideas. What say you all?
I thought they already called it Catsville.

'Catsville' seems like the only reasonable answer.

I don't know Nashville, but I hear it's a pretty crappy place these days. At least compared to what it used to be.

Why can't the SEC have the previous year's SECT winner host the following year? Be a bit of a financial bonus. Sure there might be some odd years where it might be a cluster phuck for tickets and accommodations, but that's just how it'd be. Just a thought.

Can I just say it? Nashville absolutely sucks. Bunch of morons in plastic boots sucking down blueberry Red Bulls. I wish the SEC tournament wasn't so stupidly glued to that site. But now that it's become this idiotic "east Vegas" thing every corporate entity is just salivating over it.

Atlanta is right there with Memphis, St Louis and Detroit for worst cities in America

Nashville is a step above, not a large step but a step
Don't forget NOLA, they would be disappointed to not be included in a listing of worst cities. That place is the armpit of the U.S. as far as I am concerned.

No need in forcing this. Best quote ever on this was Nolan Richardson. He laughed about Nashville being neutral for a KY Arkansas game. He said playing Kentucky in Nashville was as neutral as playing the Pope in Rome.

I like your line of thinking on this. But, I don’t think several SEC cities have the resources to support the conference tournament. Starkville,
Oxford, Auburn, Norman, Columbia (MO), Tuscaloosa and Fayetteville probably don’t have the hotels/restaurants for visitors. Baton Rouge is big enough but it’s a horrible city.

I def agree, but I also think the madness and scramble would make it fun. I think the traveling SEC fans would love it after about a decade.

Come on Drew, that’s absurd that you would bring in my crime less city of Memphis up as a bad city. Does anyone notice that the First 48 is always on TV showing Memphis? They are showing that Memphis is solving crimes and putting criminals away (now it might be for a month before they are back on the streets) 😂 Sorry your right Memphis is not good and a 💩 hole.

SEC Tourney should be played in each state of SEC teams, Meaning (KY in Louisville), Tennessee in Nashville, Bama in largest neutral site, Texas in Dallas, NOLA for LSU, Tampa for Florida, Atlanta for UGA, Saint Louis and so forth. Yes some will be better than others but that would be fair. Gives each state a little something to crow about once every 10 or so years.

It’s that UL as well? We call them so many things.

OT: Just moved to Louisville three weeks ago for work. Surprised by the amount of blue I've seen here so far despite Louisville having their greatest year since Pitino left.😁

I get why Coach Pope actually says to give Nashville a name. It's always been CATSVILLE for me. It would be nice to uniformly just start calling it CATSVILLE. Let's win this title this year and call it that officially. Our inaugural year in christening Nashville as "CATSVILLE" with an SEC tourney title !

I was born and raised there (Madison) and always been a Kentucky fan that thought Nashville is definitely a home environment for as many Kentucky fans as are in Tennessee and in Middle Tennessee. Several of us on this board are from there / still there / hail from Mid TN. We've been a part of that Blue Mist that descends before, and we are still here !

Paint CATSVILLE BLUE ! May the Blue Mist descend !
