President Trump approves of Aberdeen as well. Gave him a shout out on Florida's trip to the White House. Also, Aberdeen did not do the Gator Chomp like his teammates.
If you have not watched the interview, I would implore you to watch it. Pope and Matt have a great rapport. Regardless of what you think of Matt, he did a great job with the interview. Pope is just an awesome interview. He makes it easy on the interviewer

I love hearing the respect he has for Jasper and his scoring ability, the fact Mo D is nasty out of ball screens is a great sign for us considering we have about 50 different offensive looks from ball screens. Aberdeen is gonna be a star, Jelavic, Lowe at point, Reese Potter as an end of bench big is ridiculous FR. Moreno is gonna be a stud. I can’t wait to get it started. Not even considering guys like Chandler, Oweh, and Mountain Mamba who are ready for their next step. If Kam Williams is that good idk how we play all these guys but what a problem to have.
That was cool of Aberdeen, I know it’s a tough spot to be in. He spent his whole career there and was celebrating his title, I couldn’t blame him if he did.

His reign so far has been so refreshing, I hope he crushes it so it doesn’t end anytime soon. I don’t want him to ever be thought of as a failure here. He’s just too perfect overall.

The great thing about Pope is that we don't ever have to worry about him flirting with NBA jobs, much less with other schools. With Pitino there were always NBA rumors at the end of every season and with Cal it was NBA and some schools (UCLA) early on but with Pope Kentucky is truly the best basketball job on the planet.
