It's a welcome change from Cal's histronics. If a player makes a mistake, he doesn't jump up and run down the bench and push somebody towards the table. He is a leader who builds confidence in his players.

I think the biggest impact will be his approach wont let guys get distracted by obviously poor officiating. Both cal and his players would get completely consumed with complaining to the refs that it would throw them off their game.
I'm telling you, I couldn't be any happier watching Kentucky now. What Pope has brought back to the program, I damn sure appreciate.
His attention to details—Thats refreshing. Using the ball we were going to use in the Duke game is one example.
I liked that the first thing he said after game was only 10 assists was not us. Last nite we saw a lot of step back threes, and a lot went in, but it was less working the ball to the open man.

I had a good laugh during the Bucknell game. UK had a couple bad possessions on offense and defense and Pope called a timeout because he was frustrated with the play. Before the team huddled, he took a couple steps away, huddled his coaches as you could see he was pissed. Then he took a deep breath before heading over to the team clapping his hands to pump them up.
Half the game was camera shots of Cal because he was such a lunatic on the sideline. They hardly show Pope because he's just coaching and bever gets worked up. It's awesome.

After watching a few games along with the comments from Pope and the players I get the feeling we're not going to get outcoached in many games this year, unlike the last few years.
I thought Duke got a better whistle than us but it wasn’t crazy bad. I will die on the hill that It didn’t matter how good a team we had with Cal. The officials and NCAA brass hated him so badly winning a title was impossible. The UCONN games, Wisconsin and many others were unwinnable with the officials.
