My thoughts:

why would Block go 157? He should start the season ranked #4 behind Valencia, SVN and whoever beat him for 5th. 157 has Duke/Kasak, Robideau, Taylor, Larkin, Cannon, Webster, etc. all coming back. At 149, Block could win a title. At 157 he’s lucky to AA. Also, he wrestled 138 in high school, I get going up to 149, but why all the way to 157?

I think Iowa needs a 133 and 165 the most. My issue with bringing someone in at 133 and 157 though is there is so much young talent who probably won’t leave the schools, we would be paying a lot for a low AA or R12. Whoever we bring in at 157 would be lucky to AA. Whoever we bring in at 133 would be lucky to AA behind Forrest, Davino, Blaze, Seidel, Van Dee, Knox. So we’d drop 6 figures for maybe a 7th place finish?

If I could pick two to come, it would be the Larkin brothers. Though, they probably aren’t leaving because their dad was national champ there. So then if I could pick two, it would be Nicco Ruiz of ASU and Tyler Knox of Stanford. Both have 2 years left and AA’ed this year.

Harvey Ludington
#2 Ben Kueter

I could get behind that lineup!
Pretty good but TBH I’m hoping for a bit more. Not so sure about the LR fellas…one day they’re on and the next you’re thinking WTH just happened. I’m sure they’re outstanding youn men but it clearly hasn’t been working out for whatever reason. And I’m thinking that has to be getting old for TNT and the staff.

Imo Estrada at 149 and Block at 57 makes the most sense based on their body types and the fact Block gassed out quite a few times this year. I'd like to see him take the Dylan Ness route and add some strength vs being sucked down. I've always thought he wrestled a bit like Dylan though not as dynamic at this point.

She's been here three years by now, if he was just going to follow her he'd probably have been here to begin with.
I never implied he was just going to follow her. But, that he could be a potential target with Nyla being a feather in the cap. Sounds like that’s not an option though.

I wish we would have landed the Ramey twins that went to OK State. Sorry for dwelling.

This is where I really wish there were multi-year "contracts," don't care if they were 2, 3, or 4 years, whatever, but just something so you knew who was or wasn't potentially available - and who on the current roster we had to re-recruit to stay as well.

I've always been a proponent of letting athletes transfer more than what it was when I was growing up - which was almost nonexistent - while their coaches could come and go at will, but we do need some sort of stability. So multi-year with provisions for out clauses for coach moves etc. would be a start.

I think Vince Cornella will enter the portal for the same reason Jacob Cardenas did last year. Has a year of eligibility left due to medical hardship but the Ivy League rules prohibit him from competing at an Ivy next year.

They're getting Novak from Wyoming Endene got recruited over. 165 Cardenas,174 Garvin and 184 Norman to Ames as well is the word . Stanford did beat Iowa st at NCAAs so maybe they reconsider 🤷

You know your stuff but guessing this ends up like the prevalent "Larkin boys to ISU" rumor from last year.

If this doesn't happen then something fell through. The Larkin situation conversations were had they just were hesitant to pull the trigger. All 4 Iowa St transfers last offseason failed to AA so maybe Ames as a transfer destination will die down time will tell

I don't see any combination of the existing roster, recruits or transfers that will have Iowa any more in the conversation next year than they have been. It will be more of the 3-6 sweepstakes. I don't see 3 finalists finding their way into the lineup and that would at minimum need to be a starting point.

Would we later be disqualified for using an ineligible athlete? Trumble has wrestled 4 postseasons

Because a handful doesn't represent us all. I was a lurker for years; there's 4 to 5 guys I always paid attention to; Corby was one of those.
Sure. I won't speak for corby but that happens. One or two people can "ruin" it for the others. I don't think those guys think they're ruining it, though.

There is 7 or 8 very connected guys on this forum. I'm not going to list them, but what they disclose is very reliable. Unfortunately some don't post because they grew tired of others ********, which sucks for the rest of us. That is why very little "interesting" info is shared on here anymore imo.

And it's only gonna get worse . No one is gonna comeback and give the 🤡s anything. Will all be made up BS from the idiots. Some know what's gonna happen this offseason but it won't be told here
