I would still try to get Knox for 33. I would use Crookham at 41 and redshirt Bailey. If Crookham gets hurt then you can pull Bailey out. Block needs to stay at 49, he’s not a 57lber.
We still need a 57/65 pounder and I would really try to get Cardenas. Unfortunately, I don’t think Blaze is going anywhere but Sealy would be a steal at 65.

What does he bring that we don’t already have with TnT? Same style of wrestling. The winning formula has changed. Winning matches cause a guy can push the pace and try and gas a guy doesn’t work anymore unless guys can scramble and take chances and those three haven’t shown they can coach that. He also hasn’t shown that he can move the needle on getting top recruits. I feel the same way about Ramos. They are just a third coach bringing the same thing to the table. We need to get something different.
I don’t dislike those guys; I just want something different. If he is who they end up with I hope he can prove me wrong though!
And now the same people who have said what a horrible coaching job Dresser, Metcalf, and DSJ have done over the years are going to be telling us what a great hire Metcalf would be lol
Lmao, I didn’t know that we took 3 guys from Little Rock and 3 guys from NDSU and 3 guys from ASU.
Also, the NDSU guys left since their entire coaching staff departed. Caliendo was initially considering Minnesota till we entered the picture.
Little Rock guys already had visits lined up and was to be considered a heavy MIZZOU lean. They already had the intent to go into the portal.
So no, it’s more like a Northwestern to Michigan. 3 guys departing and packing up their bags and collectively going to another university.
Oh, and if you want a good comparison of the NDSU situation, a good parallel would be LIKE the Northern Colorado guys leaving, due to a coaching change, to ISU. Did we see people cry and moan about that? No, people applauded ISU for their portal ‘gets’.
Continue the Iowa hate though and have Iowa live rent free in your head lol.
One big thing would be that he’s is that he’s not pushing 60.
Other than famous ISU troll Mitch, does anyone think this? They’ve improved a ton under that regime and he’s been a big part of it.
I hope the very next check after that is for David Carr
That one would move the needle. He is the one guy ISU should not let get away.
Given the last several years, can Metcalf and Brands work together? It’s been a frosty relationship, to put it nicely.

Carr would take over for Metcalf at ISU in about 5 seconds in that scenario.

They’ve been lit up pretty good in the past by numerous folks on here. I’m to lazy and really don’t care enough to go back and dig it up. I can think back to some of their blunders that cost them wins against us in meets and seems like a bunch of people piled on em. I can’t think of many if any that have said he’s a good coach on here over his tenure at ISU.
If he could drag Carr along with him I’d be down though.

In KJ’s final season they scored like 3 points at the NCAAs and finished 57th. Their only top 10 finish was KJ’s first season when he had Cael’s guys way back in 2010.
Now, they’ve been top 10 2 of the last 3 seasons. They have also managed to fundraise competitive NIL $$$.

Amazing results!!! Let’s cherry pick the last 3 years. Start from the beginning. This year was supposed to be fantastic. How did that turn out? Metcalf was good at the throwing the brick though in the dual to get a good breather in the ride outs!!!

PSU pays bench guys as much or more than most top end portal guys…. They also move top HS sophomore and junior recruits into the condos and B&Bs of donors near campus and begin handing them envelopes of cash.I don’t know

I would be shocked if Sealey isn’t in the portal this cycle. He’s has 3 seasons left of eligibility and there’s no pathway for him to get into the lineup until he’s a rSR…if one exists there.I don’t know

157-Kasak has two years left after taking a redshirt this year. PSU is going to use him at that weight.
165-Mesenbrink has another year and I’ve got to imagine that they’re going to try to have Duke redshirt next year and take over 165 in 27/28.
174-Haines is graduating and all signs point to Henckel taking over that weight.
Unless someone gets hurt, I just don’t see him cracking the lineup until 28/29 and only then at 157. I have a hard time seeing a top ten national recruit waiting until hes a senior to get a shot to get on the mat…not when he can potentially get on the podium 3 times if he transfers.
I’m sorry but a #6 overall recruit that would fill a need weight for 3 years is hardly a sad state of wishful thinking. I don’t care if he’s a backup for PSU the kid is an absolute hammer.
He is actually the 2nd most negative Iowa fan on this board falling just short of dtripp. Iowa could win a dual 60-0 and they both would find a way to complain at every single weight…
Bouzokis could be good at 33. If Block gets big enough he'll do well at 57, and Estrada will be great at 49.

because a blue chip would rather have a condo and a bag on the bench at PSU than a chance to compete for Iowa or anywhere else. Apparently. Thats why.
If Iowa cant offer enough money, or development, or a starting spot, then wtf is there left to offer?
that was not the intent of my post. It was the fact that Iowa has to "wish" for hammer that is sitting at PSU and would rather do that then compete at Iowa. BAFU.
