Daniel Zepeda?!?!?

That’s crazy, we would need a 157/165!
I think he’s probably 149/157 but would be a huge get!!

Why exactly? I promise you that even at our beloved Iowa there are those with far less evolved neanderthal genes than AJ roaming around in the other sports. Some of our favorite teams/wrestlers in the 80's lived by the motto - Play Hard Stay Hard. This program needed a jolt of energy and hopefully we get it.
I just meant ugh because I don’t want Ben to step away from wrestling. Hopefully everything is ok with him medically and he isn’t going football full time.

Is Keuter really going to try and play football again? Iowa has a slew of young linebackers in the pipeline who are light years ahead of him now. He'd be an undersized DE if he wanted to go that direction and would simply be a depth piece at either LB or DE. In my opinion he should just heal up, put on 10-15 more lbs, and try to win a natty at heavyweight in his final two years of eligibility.

PSU pays bench guys as much or more than most top end portal guys…. They also move top HS sophomore and junior recruits into the condos and B&Bs of donors near campus and begin handing them envelopes of cash.

Want no part of Sealey.
I'm glad you're posting again but I kind of wish we'd stop doing this. It reminds me of all the conspiracy theory crap that circulates constantly on social media.
I'm not saying it doesn't happen but if someone has the receipts that its real, get it to the ncaa compliance and let's see if it has legs. I'd love to see some serious consequences if so but otherwise it just comes off as excuses.
As for Sealey, I'd take him in a heartbeat. He's given Duke all he can handle which is more than can be said by all but a couple guys.

Look no further. This year, there is no “timed entry permit” needed to drive into Glacier National Park. But there is a 3-hour limit on parking at Logan Pass. So, if you’re hiking the full Highline Trail, you need to take a shuttle up to the pass. You’re welcome.
Just curious if your detractors here know of your altruistic side someone exposed over in the other camp?
Insider, out. ;)
I need to get back there to do Highline. Part of it was closed when I was there do to a bear attack/encounter

I was wondering what kind of movement would happen out of NC State. I didn't expect it to be Zepeda. If you can snag him out of the portal, that's a big get at 157.

I thought Michigan would be a heavy favorite for Zepeda, especially with Michigan having a good relationship with Cormier. Mendoza is heading there and I could see Michigan pushing hard.

Tom Brands has a good relationship with Cormier too, so let’s hope we are pushing hard.
If we got Zepada who do we lose in the 2027 class? Bachman brothers?

I personally think Zepeda is going to end up at Michigan, but if we landed him, I doubt it would impact any 2027 recruit one way or another. Zepeda is either a 149 pounder or a 157 pounder. Joe Bachmann wrestled 152 this year after jumping up from 127. He's already slated to go at 160 next year, but if he continues to grow like he has the last two years, he may end up wrestling at 172 or needing to cut to wrestle at 160. He's a guy that I could definitely see wrestling at 165 in college.

The eligibility gap isn't exactly perfect but it's not horrible either.

Block will graduate after the 2028 season too which would potentially open up at 149 so there would be an opportunity to have 149-Zepeda 157-Bachmanm or it could go 157-Zepeda 165-Bachmann. That's a long way off and the roster isn't so logjammed that they couldn't work around it. It's not like there are 4 top-10 kids all within a year or two of one another vying for the same two-three spots knowing that one of them doesn't have a pathway to wrestle.

unlikely but would be a much better line up than what we were expecting. I also wonder if it’s ever been considered having Ferrari go 74 and Arnold 84. Ferrari looks much smaller than guys like welsh and especially mcenelly. He was considered to be a 74 coming out of hs for most teams and would be the instant favorite going into the year unless psu bumped Messenbrink which I don’t think is likely and still would be an interesting match up. Psu I think more likely go with Henkel a true fr Jayden James or try to bump Duke or kasak 2 weights.
