Hey Glenn, don’t you think this the new world of college sports? Although I hate to bring it up, look what happened last year with Sharpe with Cal… before that, J. Vanderbilt … University sports will cease fairly soon in my opinion. It’s not far from club sports and I don’t have a clue what that even means to UK… Just a mater of time. Pandora’s box has been opened.

People who have not read a SCOTUS opinion credit this to the SCOTUS; however, what is happening is not from a Supreme Court decision, but rather from the NCAA. We need to stop using the misnomer acronym NIL. This is flat out pay for players. The idea that UK held CRod out is ludicrous in perspective of what is going on in college football and basketball.

Reminds me of the kid in California 15 yrs ago who pretended he was being recruited by Pac 12 powers. had a hat ceremony in front of the community with Oregon and Washington and UCLA lids, picked Oregon.....but no one on any CFB coaching staff knew who he was, much less never offered a scholly.

The fake hat selection scenario has played out at least twice in my recollection, and they were filmed.

Kevin Hart “Chooses” Cal over Oregon, 2008. The video is worth the 20 minutes. Hart, after inventing D1 offers actually was considered the top HS lineman in the state of Nevada. Ultimately, he played Div. II in Missouri. Ironically, his 1.8 HS GPA might have cost him a legit Div. I offer from Nevada.

There was another occasion when one or more mischievous HS students invented a football player from thin air, and faked recruiting sites into giving him a 4 Star rating based upon the fake buzz they generated.

Hell, two years ago, a fake high school team participated in one of those nationally televised highly ranked matchup games and got beat down 50-0.

Hart, yeah that's the kid I was thinking of. After being exposed for such a humiliation I'm surprised his GPA didn't sink to 0.018.
