I'll just add:
Luke Doty is finally gone.
We'll be forced to find another RB, hopefully not an undersized wet noodle from a smaller conference.
We might just see another QB too if Sellers goes.
Beyond that, I got nothin'. Next year will be worse. It's coming. Shane will be fired, and we'll start all over again. We're only delaying the inevitable and costing ourselves more $$ in the long run by the damage being done now. The short sidedness of it all is mind boggling to me. Cut bait now, spend the $$ NOW and get a real coach and real staff. - The price only goes up next year. That's a fact.
As much as I hate to see everything blown up, I have to agree.
Bringing in a new OC, means paying off everyone that he jettisons from the current staff. Add in then, 2 or 3yr deals for the new OC and everyone he brings in. THEN, after another abysmal season next year, we fire the entire staff, paying Beamer's buyout, along with buyouts of all of those brand new (well,1yr old) contracts.
I think I saw someone on here counter the "bad time to be hiring a new coach in this carousel" line of thinking with this; If we don't think we can compete for hiring a good coach this year, what makes it easier next year? All of those supposed good coaches available in this years' cycle won't be available to us next year either - they'll all be in year 1 of their new 5yr deals anyway.
