Possible 2 state champions in one conference?

Does ESCC have a better shot at multiple champs than CCB?

Looks conceivable that they could have 6A, 7A and 8A champs if Provie bounces back. MC may have a failry smooth path if GN and GW head to 8A. And 8A has to have LA and BR as top 4 faves.

Not sure MC's path will be smooth no matter who is in 7A. I would go further than Dean and say that we won't know much about MC even after the Brown/White game. I think week 5 vs SR is a huge game and will tell us what this years Carvan will be.

Blue and ESCC should have multiple teams in contention...any suburban public conferences have 2 teams that could accomplish it? DVC?

Since the Southwest Suburban Conference is now one 13-team league, 3 programs may have the pedigree to be in this conversation: LWE (8A), LWW (7A) and H-F (8A). Apologies to others in the conference who may have something to say about this by season's end.

Another related topic and not to hijack the thread. What is the collective deepest run for most teams in one conference? Has a private school conference had three teams in state championship games? Can't remember. How about multiple semifinal teams that lead to multiple teams in state chanpionship games?

In 2006, the old Western Sun Conference had 3 semifinal teams. Batavia, Geneva, and Kaneland with Batavia making it to state championship game.

BataviaDogs,

Had the IHSA not jerrmanderred the 5A north/south line to meet an agenda the 5A title game should have been Naz vs JCA.

Of course there was that one year where both 8A teams were DVC and WWS either won or was in the 7A game.

My list of only 3 was compressed by the bags of sand piled up from posts I have read in some other threads regarding that "other" unmentioned team.

No team that is a 51 point dog in a game should be considered a threat. Now of course things can change that outlook as the season goes on and hopefully we can make that list of threats. However, Bradley, last year's 7A semifinalist would have to be considered, no?

Absolutely. When the Boilers got 1 point and 1 snap (questionable scoring play) from taking Libertyville down last season, that may have represented their breakthrough playoff game.

I know the old SCC had at least 2, maybe 3 years with multiple state champions (Driscoll/Montini, and Driscoll/IC come to mind). Believe they also had a pretty significant run of at least 1 member winning a championship.

2008 SCC had IC win 2A, SFHS win 5A and AC runner up in 4A. If my memory is right AC was in SCC in '08.
