With our rb thatās probably a good thing
With the accuracy of our QB it might not be.

You have to figure Donati lined up the interview being that he was AD at TCU when Briles was hiredDamn if it doesn't look like Briles is the #1 candidate. Never thought this could possibly happen.
Better yet, give Briles the checkbookkkkGive Beams the checkbook.
My second choice would be JD Baker.
But give Beams the checkbook before he goes to see Briles.

If you werenāt a freeloader and were on the insiders forum youād know all of this here lol. Is there a reason not to subscribe?
Briles is NOT garret Riley. Heās turned every offense heās ever coached into a top offense drastically. You know how else came from TCU? The taters' OC... he also had similar numbers and awards when they signed him. NO THANK YOU. Lets keep looking.

Meh. When words like premier and potent are used itās not exactly what I would call damning. Mostly word salad in that article; I would have liked to have read some elaboration about the āabhorrentā running game though.
When I first saw the rushing stats, that was a red flag to me. But then I read this article, BEFORE you posted it and felt much better, Briles inherited the OL coach who came to TCU with Dykes from SMU. The OL coach is Dykes guy,

And what will he inherit if he comes here? Not to be a debbie downer, but Briles might be jumping from one frying pan to another. One positive, he inherited the crappy OL, and ran up a bunch of passing stats to try and compensate for the lack of running game.

We need OL, we need RBs, we might need a fresh start at QB, right?
Dunno what his run game schemes are, but Shawn Elliott's zone blocking/run schemes helped us win a lot of games once upon a time.Oh yeah. Im saying he may very well inherit the same thing here. It could be a positive that he adapted to similar circumstances at another school.
We do have a few WRs that have the speed to make plays in the open field if we can just get the ball to them. But as noted about TCU, you still need a red zone running game.I would prefer a creative, pass first offense.
Not completely sold on our OLINE coaching staff. It's probably a combo of coaching and recruiting shortcomings.Dunno what his run game schemes are, but Shawn Elliott's zone blocking/run schemes helped us win a lot of games once upon a time.
Could we do worse?Beamer should be required to submit all candidates to FGF for approval before finalizing any contracts.
āFanā <> āsmartā necessarily.TCU fans seem relieved he might leave

Their rushing attack was better then ours according to espn stats.plus there Qb was top5 and there receiver top 5.Two plusses: Briles has been nominated for the Broyles Award in the past.
And some are blaming the OL coach at TCU for the poor rushing attack during the past 3 years.
Don't forget we struggled with OL when we had Wolfie. Wolfie went to 'Bama and was just hired by Kiffen/LSU (away from UK).Not completely sold on our OLINE coaching staff. It's probably a combo of coaching and recruiting shortcomings.
Obviously we need a better offensive line. Not completely sold on our OLINE coaching staff. It's probably a combo of coaching and recruiting shortcomings.
I'd really prefer a block-first offense. Without that, it won't matter much who the OC is.We would be a pass-first offense.
Maybe recommended by Donati, coming from TCU- and if it becomes official we probably know who our interim head coach is if Shane is shown the door. This is the best coaching news I have heard regarding /concerning South Carolina since SOS broke.
To me this is a coup. This guy is a coaching talent. I can't believe SB is bringing in a talent like this....but I guess he figures it's now or never for being upstaged? This is GREAT NEWS.....and I hope it actually happens. This changes a whole lot.
Yes-it'll help recruiting....but with his offense you don' t HAVE to have the elite players to score points, be explosive and stay on the field.
No more runs up the middle for 0 yards would be nice.We would be a pass-first offense.
