I heard that Tenn was the best #6 seed in NCAA Tourney history.
I did not realize how bad they were at the line.
General ISU fan right about now, knowing they're done and Iowa is playing for a spot in the Final4 tomorrow .......
What a beautiful weekend so far! Nebraska's best ever season ends with a loss to Iowa. And this was Iowa State's dream season where they were supposed to contend for a national title - and Iowa ends up going further than they do. Sucks to be our rivals right now!

I was really hoping for a rematch with ISU! Alas, won't happen....
On the one hand, I genuinely like seeing all the Iowa schools have success in the NCAA Tournament, including Iowa State.
We're a tight-knit enough state that I'm willing to put aside differences when those differences don't directly conflict with ours.
Unfortunately, ISU fans choose not to see it that way and thus they have to bear the consequences............

If you live or have lived near the Mississippi River, beating Illinois is a pretty big deal. Also if you went to school with a lot of FIBs.
I remember being up there for the games. Was a freshman in high school. Iowa St had Jeff Hornacek. Did they play Michigan, or was it someone else?

I was out walking around Chapel Hill by myself one fine spring morning around 10 years ago when I came across the football stadium. One of the gates was open so out of curiosity I walked in. There wasn't a soul to be seen anywhere, so I just kept walking under the concourse and out to the seating area. Still not a soul around so I figured what the hell and walked out onto the middle of the field and took in the view, walked back out and continued on my way. It was so weird. I or anyone else for that matter could have done whatever I wanted. It was as if the people in charge left the stadium after the last game and someone forgot to close the doors on the way out.

All you need to know is this: Iowa State is back in Ames watching the NCAA tourney on TV. They failed to make the Elite Eight.

I was at the Dome that day. Huge crowd. ISU beat Miami of Ohio on a Hornecek shot at buzzer in OT. Ron Harper played for Miami. That night Iowa lost to NC St. Iowa shot Free throws like ISU.
Roy Marble missed 7 fts.
Most Hawk fans pulled for ISU. Hawks had less support from Clon̈e fans. Long before internet created the atmosphere there is now.

Take away the best player on any team and they are not making it to the final 8. Surprised they got past Kentucky.
Funny thing is with them being 0-5 in last sweet 16 games looking at paths they had very favorable setup in getting there or matchups against higher seeded teams that they blew.

Most that I know are decent and will pull for Iowa when not playing Iowa State. But, of course, there are always those select few who…ya know…have to say the dumbest, most obnoxious sh*t when the Preparation H has yet to alleviate the butthurt.

That was one of our 5 ref tilt losses, refs just took over last 5 minutes. Lipsey traveled and got free throws, two Jefferson drives were offensive fouls that got free throws. Koch called for a ridiculous foul chasing a loose ball out of bounds.
Iowa state fan here: there are STUPID people on ALL forums that say stupid stuff (including here). Congratulations to Iowa on the fine run and the quality of ball that they are playing.
Why would you go to their forum or care what they say? I haven't watched them play and only care about MooU when we play them.
They know their football will be lucky to compete for low level bowl games going forward, and they are terrified that Ben is building a juggernaut that will soon pass them by.
I've been around awhile, but it never ceases to amaze me how clone fans constantly define themselves through and obsess over Iowa.
There have been years where Iowa's team (in whatever sport) wasn't real good and many more in which they were real good. But somehow Iowa always ends up with a great run, huge win or a feel good story that anyone who loves sport can appreciate.

Because it is interesting to see the butt hurt from their fan base. Even before last night's game was over they were dreading the possibility that Iowa could still go to the Final 4. They act like they aren't little brother when everything they say and do is little brother.
