Consensus among the staff is
QB- AMart/Vedral
RB-Mills/Mo
X WR-Warner/Williams
Z WR-JD/Hunt
Y WR-Wan'dale/Jones
TE-Stoll/Allen
LT-Jaimes/Gaylord
LG-Hixson/Raridon
C-Cam/Will F
RG-Wilson/Forbes
RT-Matt F/Benhart
Would think the addition of Noa at WR changes things at WR. Mills getting the magic GPA is probably the most important development for the offense this year.

DE-Stille/Thomas
NT-Older/Younger Daniels
DE-Carlos/Khalil
OLB-Jojo/Tannor
ILB-Barry/Hannah
ILB-Miller/Honas
OLB-Davis/Ferg
CB-Jackson/Cam Taylor
S-Deontai/Pola-Gates
S-Dismuke/Lee
CB-DCap/Clark
Adding the elder Daniels is probably the most important development for the defense, as it gives his younger brother another year to get his act together in terms of basic aerobic shape. The group also listed Jojo, Cam Taylor and Alex Davis as guys that had great springs. I see the Davis/Ferg spot at OLB as still the weakest link. It's a great setup to have those two guys pushing each other for playing time. Does NPG end up playing safety or corner?

I think the wildcard here is whether the interior of the Oline can gel and play at a high level once the league games start. This year I think the defense will be able to hold serve against most teams if the offense can keep the ball moving.

Lots of unanswered questions across the board, but I also see a lot of upside and potential.

I can’t wait to see this team go live and hopefully take a big step forward.

Davis ahead of Ferguson, seriously? Ferguson is our best overall linebacker. I think the weakest link on defense is if any of the projected starters gets injured, there's going to be either a big dropoff to the next guy or put our depth in a critical situation. I actually like who we have as projected starters, and I can see us being a good defense with them. However some of the backups I'd rather not see them on the field too much.

S&C and fall camp hopefully allows for a lot of guys to step up and exceed expectations. I want to believe we got some players that will come out and surprise us.

Kahlil over Carlos....
Am I wrong here?
Pretty sure the games I watched last year he was head and shoulders better than his brother. I remember Carlos getting owned against OSU on that final run play by their RB to win the game..

He was forced to play inside last season, and he was exposed. That won't be the case this season. They will be interchangeable, and no players will benefit more from the addition of Derrion Daniels. Damion will be better prepared to give additional snaps as well. And Jahkeem Green also has the versatility to play inside.

Carlos Davis
Kahlil Davis
Jahkeem Green
Ben Stille
Derrion Daniels
Damion Daniels
Deontre Thomas
Ty Robinson
Tate Wildeman

Those 9 players were all heavily recruited, and they also have more than 50 combined Power 5 starts.

Hell, if this Dline can't produce then ****
... might be time to quit.

In all seriousness, this will be the deepest Dline at Nebraska since 2013.

With the addition of Green, the Dline goes more than 2-deep with legit players. Last year was very much duct tape and bailing wire with that group. Lots of players combinations can be had.

The biggest issue the d-line faced in 2018 was the lack of a true nose.

1. Stoltenburg wasn't really a Nose, but played one when he was healthy. Unfortunately, he was rarely healthy.
2. Damion Daniels was a True Freshmen trying to learn how to play at the Power 5 level, but also wasn't ready physically to play more than 10 snaps per game.

This forced the Davis Twins inside. The team was relegated to a virtual 4 man rotation of Stille, the Davis Twins, and Freedom. Deontre Thomas battled injuries, and they were really forced to play Peyton Newell inside as well.

You can't win in the Big Ten with basically a 4- man rotation on the Dline, and two of those dudes were playing out of position most of the time.

Depending on MW situation and Rahmir Johnson picking up the playbook quickly, I still think Miles Jones is going to play running back than receiver..

I also have a sneaking suspicion Miles Jones and Rahmir will see a lot action in the upcoming season.

I also think we’re going to see more
4-3 looks potentially, both because of numbers on DL and lack of numbers at ILB

The question is whether Chin is receptive to playing a 4-3 now we have the Dline personnel to play 3-4.

I thought they’ve expressed willingness to change up fronts based off personnel.

When you look at the snaps last year, when they went to a 4 man front, they didn't even change personnel all the time. The just dropped Gifford to the DE and slide the DE down to DT. They will do the same with Ferguson and/ or Davis.

Yeah, that's what I was assuming. It's funny, because we actually have a ton of depth at DL this year and are much more iffy at LB, but Chinander isn't going to just put the Daniels and Davis brothers out there in a traditional 4-3 lineup. It's much more about having an OLB come up and put their hand on the turf than it is doing a traditional 4-3.

I think that's almost too bad, considering the depth and quality of the DL this year. Oh well!

He didn't last year and we are better now in the 3-4. I expect no 4-3 going forward, and think we have the recruiters to bring in talent (#Samoan).
